All The Way

https://www.reverbnation.com/kaynemusic/song/34551329-all-the-way

My wife is into Sade' so I wrote this one for her. Natalie on lead with Solaria harmony with Sheena vamping at the end. ENJOY! Comments Welcome

I ended up not using BIAB drum styles at all, I used audio loops, and EZ Drummer for a better feel. The horns parts and strings are all Midi played by me on a DS Juno in Halion Sonic 7 & Cubase 13 for mix and master with Waves, and Cubase Native VST plugins.

If you so desire
I will put my trust in you
To set my soul on fire
To show me such a sweet taboo

I know that I could love you
Take the time to see it through
You're loving takes me higher
Take me where we are going to

You know that I can love you
not for a minute or a day
If I'm going to love you it's
All the way

Beyond imagination
More than I could ever dream
It’s not infatuation
you’re in my every plan and schemes

There's Truth and consequences

When you treat me honestly
And give in to all desires
we dismiss all modesty

Just look I my direction
And take me heart away
A spy and complications
All the way

Elliot...great groove and percussion in this one...lyrically so well written and melodically a perfect match to the style...but it's the work with the girls that slays me...as a user of Synth V voices (crudely I might add) you have them singing this sophisticated melody with such cool nuances...when Natalie sings "fire" as "fy-yer" its these subtle touches that humanize her vocal and you have done this with each singer and their parts...I am more than impressed...so well done!

Elliot, fabulous tune, and it sounds GREAT. Love how that bass anchors the whole arrangement, and how the arrangement supports the song so perfectly. That ending really is really spectacular. Well done!

Me and my wife love Sade as well, and you did a pretty good job writing in her style.

Hi Elliott,

I really enjoyed your song. Good tune and tight lyrics which allow the vocalist to shine. Terrific backing tracks.

My only suggestion is you may wish to have a look at the lead vocalist's sibilance. Can be easily edited in your DAW.

Top song - top marks!

Best Regards
Nigel

Hello Elliott,

What a super song! Great production in all respects. Di and I love Brazilian Jazz. Love that almost hidden touch of Gypsy Jazz on the rhythm guitar. Excellent work with the synth voices.

We are also big fans of Sade, and I wrote a song for Di to sing 7 or 8 years ago called "Mystery Man." And she scorched it—burned it to the ground.
Great job all around. That was a terrific listen - thanks!

Alan

Very cool Eliott. Loved the whole production. That bass and when the horns came in really caught my ears. It's a long song, but I sure loved the music all the way through.

Although we are not familiar with Sade’s music, this was very enjoyable.
The band is excellent and the synth vocalists shine here.
Great job with the humanizing subtleties.

The mix is really standout. It set up a great soundstage via the Kali monitors.
Every track has its place and they all work together w/o stepping on one another.

We enjoyed the great groove and appreciate the effort that went into it!

Ha. I heard this, but apparently didn't push that Post Reply button when done. I came back to see who the bassist was. Another listen, and I'll repeat this is an outstanding composition, Elliott. Your production skills are so good. You fill this with so much interesting instruments and do an outstanding job with the horns and strings. Very tasteful.

Enjoy whatever happens!
