I use Band-in-a-Box mainly for its original stated purpose of providing accompaniment for my jazz practicing. Certainly RealStyles are far superior to midi but I remain very disappointed with the small number of conventional jazz styles (Classic RealStyles) available - 17 only, ignoring Latin and smooth jazz and many of these use the same musicians in different combinations. I discounted so-called Smooth Jazz because most of the jazz musicians I know could not be less interested. Honestly, I am really getting bored playing with the same old rhythm sections every day - particularly that bass player who can't play a straight four-in-the-bar walking bass to save his life.

I am even more disappointed about the small number of styles available for the faster tempos - say 200 bpm up to 300 bpm, which in my opinion covers the tempos at which a very large part of the jazz repertoire is played - from Dixieland to Bebop. Actually there are none!

I really don't know why I bothered with 2010.5 which only gave me a few styles with a jazz organ added.
