Here's the instrumental version (completed about five minutes ago) of a track I wrote in 2023. Hope you enjoy - thanks for listening and for any comments, all of which are very welcome smile

I moved the tempo to 100 BPM, for both versions.

The guitar solos are instruments from EastWest ComposerCloud+ (Soundsonline)

The flute solo is from MixCraft Pro Studio 10's library of sounds.

For reference, here is the original, 2023 track:

Here, David Cuny ever so kindly put my melody through Synth V, with Kevin singing the male part and Eleanor Forte (if I remember rightly) singing the female part. The chords, and backing track arrangement choice, are mine.

THE LYRICS (for the vocal version):

And that's how it goes
In this world of woes,
When one softly knows
That one loves a rose.

***

For he doesn't understand
Just how much she loves him,
And he doesn't understand
Just how bad she wants him,

And he doesn't understand
Why she's been so harsh to him,
So he walks away, once more
From his loved one's open door ...

By the fountain where they met
He is there on odd days,
Mondays, Wednesdays and the Fridays,
That is where he will stay,

And on Sundays, he goes home,
And he lets his eyes pour
Tears, awaiting the return
Of a flame that's no more.

***

And that's how it goes
In this world of woes,
When one softly knows
That one loves a rose.

***

For she doesn't understand
Just how much he loves her,
And she doesn't understand
Just how bad he wants her,

And she doesn't understand
Why he's been so harsh to her,
So she walks away, once more
From her loved one's open door ...

By the fountain where they met
She is there on even days,
Tuesdays, Thursdays and the Saturdays,
That is where she will stay,

And on Sundays, she goes home,
And she lets her eyes pour
Tears, awaiting the return
Of a flame that's no more.

***

And that's how it goes
In this world of woes,
When one softly knows
That one loves a rose.

James, love your instrumental. Very delicate with a musical poignancy that I like a lot. Nicely composed and mixed, too. Nice BiaB work!

Hi, James. I listened to this one yesterday when I got the notice from YT. Loved it then, and I knew that love would grow listening again. Right again!! Yesterday, I didn't have the orignal for comparison. Although I really love those lyrics and how well David fashioned those synths to deliver them, the guitar sounds so good and I like the tempo better. Hmmm, as I listen to "Eleanor" I realize just how good this song is --no matter how it's presented, the quality of your writing shines. SO well done and redone, James.

Enjoy whatever happens!

James, loved the instrumental version.
The synth vocal version was good but IMHO the instrumental version was better.
Great job on both mixes.

Great work on the all BiaB production.

The nylon sounds especially good and the mix is dynamic and open ... perfect for the vibe.

Enjoyed it!
