City Night Life

After a hard day at the office some city dwellers loosen their ties, head to a jazz lounge, order the beverage of their choice, and listen to the music. This maybe what they heard!

BiaB style - City Night SW16 Smooth Jazz
Tempo - 75 BPM

I deleted the bass and guitar tracks
Piano - Lounge Lizard - Reed Bassed - Reed Verb Tremolo
Strings - Synthmaster 2 - Pad - Bright Retro Pad X5
Drums - Steven Slate's SSD5 - Classic Chill

I am playing me SX fretless bass and via my breath and keyboard controllers the Swam Alto Sax.

As always all comments are welcomed.

Mario,

This piece is absolutely awesome! Love the late night vibe. The sax is excellent - sounds tremendous.

You are killing it with these lounge tunes.

Nice work. I like this one. That's some fancy sax playing.

Nice chill-out vibe for sure.
It's all good ... the band, your performances and the mix.

But the absolute standout for us was that GREAT sax!

Well done,

This really does have a city at night vibe to it. Image-conjuring. And very nice work on the Swam again!

Geez, Mario, you're a natural at this jazz lounge genre. Really like everything you've done here, and that sax...'nuf said. If I were still having hard days at work, I'd definitely hang at your place afterwards. Nice stuff!

Thanx so much Bob. I really like "lounge tunes" and smooth jazz. I also loved those Swam instruments.

Thanx Dave. Thanx also for mentioning my bass. Sometimes it is hard for me to get out of my "guitar mode" when playing bass. I thought that I did OK on this one so thanx for verifying that!

Thanx Janice and Bud. I am slowly learning how to play those Swam instruments. They are modeled instruments and not sample based so the learning curve is a little steeper.

Mario...very cool...I love that drum kit...crisp and clean...the EP is really nice...the melody is intoxicating as it muses through the background...not hard to imagine the scene you set up...progressive jazz in a very soothing way!

You definately have this genre down.
What stood out to me was the EP and your bass work.
Well done.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Mario, you should open a bar; this is really good.
As others have said here, the alto is great.

Man, you make everything work so well. Craftily composed. Your fretless adds so much goodness. This is fine relaxing piece for the happy-hour-to-ten crowd in the lounges. Well done, Mario.

So much talent on this forum. And you, Mario, are right at the forefront of it all.

LOVED it. That sax ... ahh. So soothing, and so well played. There's a somehow nostalgic vibe to this track, too. The harmonic progressions are out of this world, yet so subtly done as the skill involved in creating them to be almost un-noticeable.

You are an incredible, understated musician. Bravo.

Thanx so much Steve. The EP is strictly BiaB. Thanx for commenting on my bass playing. Coming from a real bassist that was a huge compliment.
