Loose & Lovely on Soundcloud
Loose & Lovely on YouTube

The novel would start, “Well, her name was Lucy, and that's the way she played it.” Being loose doesn't always mean sexually promiscuous. I think the song is more about my (Jungian) anima than anyone real.

Loose & Lovely
She's kinda loose, but she loves me
with the kind of love that's hard to find.
She's a lot to handle but she knows I love her,
and I know that she is mine.
I never thought I'd be this lucky with such a fireball friend.
She knows the way to live her life. We'll play hard till the end.

She may be loose but she's lovely,
and she enjoys life better than most.
A smile on her face and she's never in a race
'cuz no one else is close.

She loves to laugh. She's contagious,
and I caught her bug in my soul.
Every time our eyes meet I melt like butter,
and soon I lose control.
She's got a look that drives me crazy. and I'm so glad she is mine.
She taught me how to live my life. She keeps me feeling fine.

She's full of life and liberty. We'll sing away the blues.
And every day she brings to me a smile I'll never lose.

(She's loose. She's loose and lovely.)3x {with a little "yes, you know she is" in between

Marty,

What a great country-blues song! Love the lyrics and your performance. You are singing great these days!

That pedal steel is really excellent - provides a really nice almost call/response to your vocal lines.

EXCELLENT!

Marty, this is a great song, and the performance and production are very present and real. GREAT vocals. Really like the Beatlesque "loose and lovely" outro. It's all just divine.

FWIW, the lead vocal at 2:04 ("She's full of life...") sounds distorted no matter how many times I listen to it. Might be me, as it often is.

Had to Google "(Jungian) anima". That's some trippy stuff. Mistyped it as "anime" the first time, which gave some amusing results, but am sure that's not what you had in mind at all.

Love your new song!

Ahhhh Carl Jung and a quite interesting theory. Those Swiss are deep thinkers, I understand he and Freud were "buddies" smile

Nice work, the pedal steel was a nice touch and your bass is always in the pocket.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

HI Marty,

This is a great song with a big sound. I agree with the comments about the pedal steel - it's perfect as you used it.

Your vocal is outstanding on this - well on all of them, actually.

Nice band and those bgvs are so good! You know how to create and present a great song/production. I totally enjoyed it from first note to last.

Take care, my friend.

Thanks, Bob. It's always good to get Bill in some songs in between his gigs.

HAHA. Thanks, Brain. But I still call the anima she. smile

Ha, thanks, Ron. Yeah, I do have an anime side, too. Yeah, there's that kind of thing in every song I sing. I try fixing them with all kinds of stuff thrown at them. I've blamed my mic. But I think it comes down to not a very good singer with a lousy, messed-up mouth. smile

Yep, cool tune. I knew a few like that.... but that looseness was problematic. Adios amiga.

I Like this. The slide parts were pretty neat. Was that a lap steel or a guitar?

The "slide" part you're asking about is a Sho-Bud Pro One pedal steel guitar.

That is Signature BabuMusic.
Buttery Bass.
A jaunty, walkin' rhythm.
Sung with a twinkle in the eye or a subtle smirk on the lips...

Nice job on the steel, Bill.

So Much Fun

Excellent song, Marty. As I commented on YT "a sweetly neat complete treat!" Worth the repeat.

PS: It's not often I come across mention of Jung these days, and even less the use of "anima". I know exactly what you mean by the term. I first started studying Jung and analytical psychology in 74, then many years later I qualified as a person-centred counsellor. Reading Jung and other Jungians created one of my early key spiritual foundations. I would have loved to have met Jung and some of his close associates. B.D. Thomas wrote that heard he heard Jung and Freud were buddies, but as you probably already know, Jung was Freud's protégé who eventually broke away from him as he disagreed with so many of his models, as I and numerous others also do. Are you familiar with Melanie Safka's comic song "Psychotherapy" which is about Freud?

Thanks, Steve. I wouldn't ask either of them to give an honest opinion of the other. wink

Thanks, Alan. Bill created the track; all I did was drop it into place. Much appreciated, my friend.

Marty...this is such a fun song to listen to and the video is a perfect compliment to it....Bill is the icing on the cake here...adding a unique element to another BabuMusic classic...your vocals (especially the BGV's) are really top-notch here...somewhere at your house there's a music factory churning them out...each song you produce is different than the next and you write and arrange them masterfully!...Sir, you are the master of the complete package!

Hey Hey, very nice slow shuffle, it had my foot tapping. Nice way to modulate keys. Nice use of BIAB to back you up. Remember, it is the fantasy partners that make the best material.
