Yes, this is an excellent way to phrase the question.

There has been significant discussion on these pages where users have not been able to successfully place audio in the correct places using micro-chords.

Some styles are perceived to work better than others. If every style is capable of using micro chords, presumably they can be placed anywhere, If so, we have to ask, why are the results so inconsistent?

Would really like to see a definitive answer to Matt's question.
