Hi Ron.
Thankyou for your nice comments, and like I said to Brad , the "muddy" comments are is very helpful to me.
I use Melodyne in my DAW to create BV's. This is a nutshell explaination so let me know if you need clariffication

In your DAW select the parts you want to harmonise (usually the chorus) , copy and paste - in line - onto another track.
Do this for how many harmony parts you require.
Open the new parts in melodyne, loop play (in daw) the region and use the pich tool to raise or lower notes (sung words) until they sound pleasant to you.
Phasing will be a problem so you need to change the parameters
Adjust pitch modulation, pitch drift , raise or lower the formant and slow the attack speed of notes
Select all notes ,click on the pitch tool- yellow lines appear.
Lengthen those yellow lines to their maximun to smooth out the words.
Tools to do this are readilly available in Melodyne.

Individually the tracks may sound a bit strange but combined the results can be very good. Experiment, have happy accidents, have fun.
I can hear you nodding Mario. <grin>.
