Janne,
A truly interesting write. It went places I could have never guess. A big sound. The BAND sounds Serious. Really enjoyed the BAND outro...
fj Thanks fj for your pleasant comment Glad I managed to introduce you new places And glad you liked the outro, although it would have been interesting to know how you would have reacted to the original version with 30 seconds longer outro... Janne

Janne...this is an interesting melodic piece...I think the horns add a nice element to the song...though I think they sound a bit "tinny" and lack some meat to them IMO...the sax and electric guitar solos are killer and give the song a sultry jazzy feel...I do think that a higher key would have helped the lead vox...but really nice job with the Synth V voices!

Hey Janne this is quite unique. I agree with the others that say this could be part of a Broadway musical.
5 years!!?? Wow, you do have patience!
Trying to get a horn section right is not for the timid, as there are many dynamics going on. I wish I could do as good as you've done here. Nice work.
https://soundcloud.com/user-646279677BiaB 2025 Windows For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

I like both the backing tracks and the vocals (especially the harmonies), but somehow they don't connect for me. Maybe it's because I'm not familiar with this genre, but I miss something that holds them together. It's technically very well done, but unfortunately it doesn't work for me, sorry.

Janne,
Really original and imaginative melody to this that kept my attention. The chorus is particularly engaging. The horns worked fine for me. The vocaloid has just the right feel to bring the most out of the tune. Good stuff!!
Deej Thanks Deej for your pleasant comment Glad you liked the horns already in this version. Janne

I really like the progression and the melody you filled it with, and another super job with the synths. Very high-caliber composition, and an outstanding production. With all the magic from the band you did an excellent job bringing the vocals to a clear front. Horns are good too. I understand your frustration with the micro chords, but they're coming along. The regeneration is so much better these, especially allowing just one measure regeneration. Thanks Marty, I really appreciate your heartwarming words, especially "high-caliber", "outstanding" and "magic" Yes, I'm super-convinced that BIAB is getting better all the time, but I'm also super-impatient to wait for those bugs ironed out as soon as possible, at least the problem with the regeneration of double-time RTs is quite annoying. Janne

We also get the theatrical vibe that was mentioned by Elliot. With the layered horns, guitars and synth vocals it is a big production.
The outro was exceptionally good with the swapping between the sax and guitar.
“… sometimes it is hard to decide to have a sax or the guitar, this time they both sounded good together so I kept them both.” Great decision!
You always have a thoughtful lyric and interesting chord progression. Most enjoyable, Janne!
J&B Thanks Janice & Bud, I'm always looking forward to read your positive comments Glad you enjoyed also this new one. Janne

Hi Janne. Sounds like you put a lot of effort in this piece. Yes it does sound like it could be from a Broadway production, as others have said.
Not sure if the repeat harmonies in "where I'm doing wrong" and "where I'm not that strong" sound right but that could be my ears.
Vic

Wow! Great sound, harmonies and vocals! I really like the halftone progressions too!
I began in 1970 with a 7 piece dance band. I had other bands, but my most successful one was "The four Windows", a 4 piece guitar band. Many concerts, TV shows, Record contract with EMI and a guitar hit in 1982 in Europe with my "Lonely Seagull".

You created an interesting sound. You might have gotten what you wanted out of the horn tracks, but the sound is unique. Excellent work with the synth voices. I agree that this would make a good show tune. The sax solo sounds made for the song. My favorite line: "Tell me if I'm distant and I'll kiss you on your nose" Thanks for your positive feedback Glad you liked that line, especially when I asked AI about the lyrics and it said concerning that line: "a sweet gesture, but it might not fit the tone of the song entirely. Consider a more passionate or pleading action". I didn't change that, because AI seemed to miss the point of learning the "right" gestures gradually, passion would come later. Janne

But... this is a song only you can make. A genuine Janne-sound! And that means it's a very good song!
Like the low voice of lead synth and the harmony of the two synths. That is also the case with the melody, the theatrical twist in it, as J&B and Elliot mentioned, was very interesting.
Your search for good horns, that fit in this song, too a long time as I read. Together with the sax at the end, they work very good. Only at some point in the beginning of your song (at 0.42 I think) they sounded being 'out of rhythm. I listened several times and kept this feeling. Luckily you called this song I'll never learn... (if you don't tell me what I'm doing wrong). That's why I dare telling it to you. No one else mentioned it, so I'm could be very wrong. Then you can learn me how to listen...
Have a very nice day, Janne Hans Thanks Hans for your long and insightful comment I really appreciate it! And you are right about learning (and not very wrong) and thanks for telling me possible weak spots in the song, glad that you understood the message of the song As I said, I'm waiting the partial generation for double-time RTs to be working some day and then I could concentrate on fixing those "out of rhythm" parts. I listened to the part you mentioned and I agree that it would need some polishing, although I mostly like what I hear there. Have a great day! Janne

Well, I really like it. Yes, it would benefit from proper horns, but I can tell (I think!) what you want to achieve, and the piece sounds great, anyway. The lyrics I particularly like!!! Really beautiful and unexpected, unconventional. Your vocal is really, really solid, and the sax solo is excellent. Well done, Janne ... a wonderful achievement!

Thanks for your kind and positive comment I agree about the horns, I wish BIAB had more aggressive horns, because I couldn't realize my vision with the current set. And you are right that the higher key would be better, but I feel this Synth V vocalist is better on the low notes, so to transpose up I would need to change to vocalist also... Janne

Janne ...
You have a unique and most enjoyable sound. Your music is always creative and takes the listener on new and exciting journeys. And yes - Broadway potential in this one.
I have a song for which I wrote the lyric and acoustic guitar accompaniment in 1978. I've not yet found a selection of RTs that would support it. Who knows, next year's new tracks and styles might have the answer!
Excellent song and production! Great stuff ...

Thanks BT for your kind comment Well, I haven't spent the last 5 years working on this song, I have tens of song waiting for their turn to be finished. The problem is to find time and determination to start the final steps, especially when the emotion in the idea has to be found and felt again. Now I'm working on another 5 year old idea, seems to take ages to finish... Janne
