Hello everyone.

I hope you are all doing well.
Due to my new job, I hardly have any time left for music and the forum.
All the better that I am now in a phase where I have a little more time for it.
I would now like to present you the first song of the SOUND GUARDIANS in 2024:

How many things do we do every day for the last time?
Think about it.
These can be big things, such as giving a loved one a hug, or smaller things,
such as listening to your favorite song on the radio.
No matter what it is, enjoy your life so that every moment makes your life something unique !!!

I really wanted to record this song without the usual background instruments
such as drums or rhythm guitar, but that proved to be a real challenge for me.
But thanks to the excellent collaboration with
Deej, Marty, Shigeki and Wolle, an extraordinary song was created.

Have fun

Andi ;-)

THE LAST TIME

Standing on the corner
Alone under the rain
I gave you my umbrella
And I never was the same

And I think I grew a foot or two
When you smiled and said my name
Looking back you’d call it fate
But somethings you can’t explain

The last time in our lives
It may just be the first time
You don’t know
The world just changes
The first time in our lives
It may just be the last time
Don’t let it go
Hold on for ages

I remember how you whispered
Sometimes it’s just goodbye
And you never see it coming
No matter how you try

And I heard the lie in your helpless sigh
As you told me it’s okay
Don’t worry about tomorrow
Keep living for today

Very nice piano strings orchestration, the way it compliments the vocals with being overpowering.
Great lyrics, vocals, and overall song. Wonderful.

Great collaboration on this soulful song with brilliant instrumentation throughout, I instantly spotted the Shigeki strings

Hi Andi.
Really nice lyrics and arrangement. Deej does a great job on the vocal.
If I was forced to nit pick then I would say the synth, especially at the beginning sounded a little harsh.

Gee, this is just beautiful. Every part is really strong and tight, and the song just soars. Was trying to place the source of the timpani(?) and cymbals but guessing those were triggered by the guitar synth. Great job, guys!

I played the song before reading the intro notes. Kind of mesmerized me. The vocal grabbed me right away and such a wide soundscape. Then started to read the list of collaborators on the song. Wow did you hit it out of the park. Really well done

Really nice song. It's good to hear a collaboration from our family here.

By using or not using the same old instruments it forces you out of your comfort zone and pushes creativity to the front.

Hi, Andi. Glad you're back, and quite thrilled to be a part of these wonderful Sound Guardian songs. Another soaring beauty for sure. Deej has such a good voice, and Shigeki is like Midas --I bet everywhere he walks there is a symphony in the wake. Wolfgang always plays the perfecrt parts, and I dig his solo.

Enjoy whatever happens!

I know only too well what it's like not to find enough time for music these days.
Nice to have you back, Andi.

Great song, fantastic work by ALL of you.
The icing on the cake, as it should be, are the vocals, which are wonderful and very emotional.

Andi & Friends,

Such a powerful song. As a 12-year cancer survivor, I can appreciate the message in this song. Everything is simply perfect. You have some of the best folks on the form as your collaborators. It's truly a great song, with strong production, sincere passion, and such a big sound. Congrats to all of you!

Hi Andi,

Man, loved everything about this, strings, vocal, and Marty of course. And Wolfgang plays the perfect part for the song, very tasteful.

Great to hear a new song from you, and congrats to all involved!

Well done to the crew...fabulously well done.
The only nit I have is that the strings are a little hard edged...personally I'd have liked the in stereo panned L & R with some EQ and reverb to soften them BUT Shigeki's string arrangement is ace.
Marty's bass is subtle & supple, Wolfgang's guitar serves the song really well, the lyrics are a wonderful narrative and your musical bed is excellent.
Well done.

Cheers

DeeJ, you came back with an absolute masterpiece.
All top shelf musicians backing and outstanding vocal.
Being a 20 cancer survivor these lines really hit home
"The first time in our lives
It may just be the last time"
This is your best to date.
Loved it

Touching lyrics with a simple, but crystal clear message. And when the story is wrapped with a powerful and pleasant melody, the song grows even bigger. And I can't even tell what happens when great artists unite to express their part in this wholeness. Extraordinary vocals, great string arrangement etc. A bit different instrumentation doesn't matter, it's all about the song and the fact that nothing can go wrong with talents like you.
Listening to this song surely made me feel something unique! I hope this was not the last time I heard a Sound Guardians song.

Janne

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
