I tried also but I could not separate notation from tabs. But for me I need notation along with tabs otherwise I would not know the duration of the notes. YMMV

There's a system for showing the duration of notes in tab that's been around since I was a wee young whipper snapper learning tabs from Guitar World and other magazines that had transcriptions.

See the attached screenshot from Go Playalong 4 to see how that works, and also note the part that the arrow is pointing to where you can toggle the display such that it shows only standard notation, only tab, or both simultaneously.
