For some reason, I've had more 'advice songs' than what I normally do. If I get a hook and its angle in my head then it's pretty much how the songs gonna go. Nice! Your music always a true/legitimate country/bluegrass sound. Always ready to listen to good advice - my grandfather significantly shaped my life with his advice, suggestions, and many words of wisdom. I'm not much of a fisherman, but I truly enjoy this. Yep - it's a keeper! Your music is always real.

Sweet tune, Dewey! Cool theme, and love the musical break and middle eight. Superb vocals and harmonies, too. My grandfather was a solo farmer in south Georgia. To go fishing, we'd load the boat before dawn and be in the water as first light broke through the trees. Then off to take care of the livestock. There's something meditative about fishing that's always appealed to me, so...I really love your song.

Ron, thanks for sharing your memory with your grandfather. My grampa didn't get up as early as yours, however, he did take me fishing and he was a dairy farmer (before my time, though). Ah, Dewey, those angles in your head you mention never fail to give us some great music. Love the feel of this. Great song idea and a stroy well-told. For me, it was my great grandma. She was and still is. Excellent vocal and harmony.

As longtime bluegrass pickers it was nice to hear that you used both the rhythm and soloist bluegrass RTs. Often folks will just lower the volume on the solo RT and leave it throughout the tune. Thank you!  Grampa laid it out well. And you turned it into a very enjoyable lyric. Having already mentioned the band we'll add that the vocals and mix sound excellent. Enjoyed it! J&B

Dewey...great hook! you certainly have the gift of developing really great hook lines (which particularly works well for a fishing tune I suppose)...to me you picked the perfect genre to tell this story in...great track...super vocals...your tunes are always a treat!!
