(A melody inspired by Pachelbel's chord progression, in my own style)

While my rendition can't hold a candle to Johann Pachelbel's timeless masterpiece, "Canon in D," it's a humble nod to his influence on music, simplified for guitar enthusiasts like me in C Major.

The electric guitar was performed by me and the cello, drums, and acoustic guitars are performed by BIAB. I'm using a trial version of Logic Pro 11 and the guitar plugin is Native Instruments Guitar Rig 7 using the Rocker Grit setting. I filmed the video using a Mevo Start Camera for the overhead guitar and an iPhone mounted on the guitar using a mount called "The Magnet" sold to me by Troy Grady. There's very little editing except to adjust levels and I added some reverb and a bit of EQ. I didn't try to do anything fancy as it was just a video capture of myself practicing to my BIAB chord sheet video. Thanks for letting me submit it here in the forum and thank you - thank you - thank you to Dr. Gannon for creating Band-in-a-Box!!!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Patrick, cool production. Like your guitar tone and the FX chain. Nice playing and love the tremolo finishes. The mix totally works for me, even though the snare and bass are really the only instruments I'm able to clearly pick out. Really admire your creative camera work and placement of the camera on the guitar. Nicely planned and executed all the way around.

Nice melodic playing! I'll take melody over shred any day. Good composition, and great tone.

Love the Godin, I have a Montreal Premiere myself, great guitars.

Good work on the video too, enjoyed!

Really lovely instrumental. Excellent guitar work and a good mix. Can't go wrong!

Super tone and mix.
I also liked the video.

Thanks DC Ron. I remixed it a bit to try to bring out the BIAB instruments. I just downloaded Logic Pro 11 trial version and I am trying to figure it out. I had Studio One but my yearly renewal came due and I thought I’d see about this Logic Pro 11. I like it a lot and I might just go with it after the trial is up. I have a lot of hearing loss though so I don’t know how well my mixes sound to other people.

Nicely done. As others have said, good tone. Sweet adaption of the classic standard.

Sounds good, and I like the way you play it.
Pachelbel's Canon in D never gets boring, I've used that progression in a couple of my own songs (not through the whole song though).

Enjoyed the listen

I first saw the camera mount about 4 or maybe 5 years ago on a kickstarter campaign by a fellow named Troy Grady and I missed out on it because he only had a small batch made and they all sold out. I was on his email list and a month or so ago I got an email that he found a supplier and started making them so I finally got one. It comes with some silicone pads but it kept slipping off the guitar neck so I bought some Velcro and cut some strips to mount it. There's also a string that you have to go through some creative loops to get your camera secure and in the right spot where you want it. This was my first attempt at recording with it. It's an adjustment to get used to playing with it but I think it has a lot of potential for guitar lesson video applications.
