I am using BB 2022 and want to generate a RealTrack on one of the Utility track. The 2022 manual tells me that all I have to do is "To generate RealTracks on a Utility track, right-click on that track in the Mixer and go to Generate | Select and Generate RealTracks.
Try as I might, there is no menu that looks remotely like that displayed as shown.
I want to be able to generate a RealTrack just like it tells me on Page 124.
Hate to see you hanging on this point, but I am afraid most of us here have moved on from BIAB 2022. So all I can tell you is there are several places to R-Click to select and insert and generate RTs on the Utility tracks in BIAB 2024. Good luck waiting for a response.

Hi DrDan, Thank you for your kind response. I have to say it was the first thing that came across my mind when I saw this feature and was quite happy to leave it at that. What made me actually query the point was that it was published in the BiaB 2022 manual, complete with a screenshot of the process in action. Now, that's what I call forward looking.

Am I doing something wrong?
Looks like the procedure for doing this in the main app was changed, but the manual wasn't updated. If you simply right click and go to Select RealTracks, that'll do it.
If you are using the plugin, it's basically the same:
Hi Simon, Thank you very much for your response. I seem to have confused myself by using an incorrect version of the manual as a reference in the post. The attachnent I included with my first post was related to the ability to generate a Realtrack on a Utility Track. This is referred to on page 131 of the 2022 manual (not 124 as in my post). This is the process I have been unable to follow.
I am using RealBand to get around this at the moment.

That of course should also have a bug number so that PGM have a record that it's known about and a record when it's fixed. Quite possibly both of those things are already done.

Page 131 talks about recording live audio, not generating RealTracks. Can you check the new updated manual here and let me know which page you're referencing? The "Using Utility Tracks" section is now on page 122 (recording live audio is now on page 128).

It's one of those things that seems a PITA at first, but saves time and heartache when referring back and becomes fairly painless once it's automatic.

Thank you Simon, that explains a lot. This is an excellent feature, although the generated utilty track does not quite have the same status as the original BB tracks, especially with regard to bar settings for the generated instrument. Editing is rather clunky, but, no matter, I export to Live for sonf completion. Perhaps this has all been adressed in subsequent versions.

Happy to help! Indeed, these issues have been addressed in the 2024 version - in particular, the new Tracks window allows for much easier editing of generated RT's on all tracks, and the Utility Tracks have been added to the Bar Settings window.
