Li'l Lies O' Jayne on Soundcloud Li'l Lies O' Jayne on YouTube A song that goes from li'l lies to lilies for a typical politician. Style is _WESTGTR.STY (Spirited Country Strumming) RealTracks in style: 1761:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Pop16ths Ev16 085 RealTracks in song: 4520:Banjo, Fingerpicking GentleSync16ths ev16 100 RealTracks in song: 1002:Guitar, 12-String Acoustic, Rhythm ClassicRockA-B Ev16 065 RealTracks in song: 3141:Fiddle, 5-string, Background Folk16thsLongNotesAndy Ev16 060 RealDrums in style:NashTrainEv16^1-a:Sticks Snare , b:Sticks Snare 16th I added bass, guitar (solo only) & vocals, and our cool granddaughter Charley added some much needed truth from Jayne. Lil Lies O' JayneIt all began with the lil lies o' Jayne. They shaped the course to the wretch she became. Well, Jayne was falling in the polls until she mentioned her opponents kill. That day she swore to tell no lies. She said she had enough to prove his sorry [*****] should be removed. And so began the plot for his demise. Yeah it all began with the lil lies o' Jayne. She changed the truth just to ruin his name. Her campaign promise was to make it clear she's gonna climb to the top this year, and all opposed can watch her rise. She knew that she was gonna win, and plastered on her toothy grin. 'Cause no one sees the truth behind her lies. So she made the best of her lil lies o' Jayne Her sinister soul hid behind her bright flame. But soon she rattled the powers that be, and her defiance set her fate. They needed to set her stubborn soul free and make her prename The Late. Well, Jayne was crawing on the floor that night. They warned her keep her mouth shut tight. They said she had to spread their lies. She promised she would not give in, and snubbed her nose and raised her chin. The bullet hit her right between the eyes. But it's not the end of the lil lies o' Jayne The truth may die but deciept stakes its claim. She kept right on with those lil lies o' Jayne. Her tombstone claimed that she wasn't to blame. Marty...this is brilliant...conceptually one of your best...first off I love the style of this piece...it is indeed spirited country...but it's the hook and the lyric that are captivating...super play on words (which you are a master at for sure!)...cool story (very apropos in 2024 "the year of lies")...not a word out of place or insignificant in context...and man you nailed the vocals! this was so fun and funny...you excel at this stuff!

It's always a great start when the premise is based on a dad joke. Cool arrangement, perfect grand daughter insertions and a bass that supports the song wonderfully. Well done sir, no less was expected.

Very clever lyric. Fits well with the backing band. And, by the way, well sung. Brian

Clever write as per usual, and good vocal. Nice solo! And great to hear Charley in there too.
Good stuff, Marty!

Your best so far? It's getting hard to tell, with so many brilliant songs of yours, one after the other. The granddaughter soli made me smile Your own voice is in top form, here ... and the song itself is superb, intelligent, and (as many good songs do) hint at meaning whilst letting us figure out the details. I don't know how much work went itnto this, but what I do know is that this kinda thing is never easy to nail, and man, have you nailed it and then some. Well done, Marty ... hats off, so impressed, once more.

I like the discrepancy between the upbeat music and the dark lyrics, it's a parody that goes deep when you think about it. It's really, really cleverly written, Marty. Say "hi" to Charley for me ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

Marty, what an extremely clever song. It is an appropriate song for 2024! Outstanding vocal and video. Super backing tracks and mix. Loved it

Can't say it better than already done on YT: This one had me paying attention from the start. Great concept lyrically and the instrumentation and production is first class. It's great musical storytelling - excellent video too - and I also liked Charley's input! Brilliant, Marty.

I think I know who this is about but I have to admit that most of it goes over my head. I realise that is a clever spoof and a satirical send up of someone, but whom exactly I am unsure ?? The music is excellent and Marty you have one of the best story telling voices I've heard. 98% of politicians give the rest a bad name.

I love a good political protest song. Very well done. I usually just listen to the audio but I went straight to the video.... nicely done.
I've done a few.... if you are curious.... go to my website.... click MY Music and scroll down to #37 Hope & Change and then scroll down to #50 Leave this country alone. Unfortunately they didn't make a difference.
Great song. Brilliant insight.

How could anyone not be drawn in by this one? Great job with the story telling, production, little surprieses of the female vox! It works like a charm, my friend!!

Marty,
Nice. I like this genre and style you have with these clever titles of late (the play on words with people's names, I mean). It is kind of like an aptronym, I believe, or perhaps just a clever play on words. If anyone knows the exact name for this literary device, lay it on me. Anyway, it reminds me of a group from the sixties but I can't remember who.
The Beatles did this kind of thing too but it wasn't them. I am sure it will come to me as soon as I post.
Maybe it was Zappa.
Anyway, great job Mr. Kindheart, I mean, Mr. Wiseman, I mean Mr. Sillybrain, I mean Mr. Smartymarty!!!

Good stuff, Marty! Yeah, we gotta get Charley and your nephew together for a song, Dave. Kind of you to mention the formulated solo (which really isn't a solo).
