The open-source crowd is likely to go berserk when MuseScore 5 comes out (next year?). Muse Group has promised that it will be good, something they readily acknowledge that MS4 and previous versions are not.. This means that it will be more like Finale/Sibelius/Dorico and have been on a hiring binge to make it happen. If you’re a notation or AI engineer, they want you and you don’t have to move to Cyprus. It’s a multi-billion dollar company and the acquisition of Hal Leonard last year is the major cog in their plans for world domination. It’s like the Sixth Sense—open source is dead over there but that crowd doesn’t know it yet.
