Yes, I misspelled "Prairie. I didn't notice it until after I posted it.

A health update: I had a "mild" heart attack last week. I'm doing pretty good - mostly feeling very exhausted all the time. Fortunately, no surgery required. Mostly, dietary and exercise changes ordered. Could have been worse!

Lonesome Prairie

Just something I put together a couple of weeks ago. I appreciate all listens and comments, It's all acoustic. Thanks in advance.

I'll do my best to get caught up on listens and comments over the next week or so.

This beautiful mournful music takes me on a journey where I see an unyielding landscape of flat, rolling grasslands stretching to the horizon, with not a single tree or building in sight. The howling wind is sweeping across the prairie with a chilling, unrelenting intensity.
The sense of isolation is profound. Settlements are sparse, and the nearest neighbor is miles away. This isolation is both physical and emotional, as the landscape itself seems to stretch endlessly with no sign of change. There’s a certain bleak beauty to this emptiness, a vastness that both mesmerizes and overwhelms.
tap tap tap - Izzy wake up - wake up Izzy. Damn it, back to reality.

But seriously , this is lovely music Alan. Congratulations.

Nicely done (again), Alan! That's a nice band you've put together there, and they all sound like they are RIGHT HERE in front of me. Love the bendy acoustic solo and the trade off with the mournful harmonica. They make a nice contrast and a nice compliment. Time to mount the Conestoga and head west, young man!

UPDATE: Yikes! I missed the "mild heart attack" note in the OP. Not a trivial event, Alan. TAKE CARE!!!

Good song, Alan, love the groove and both the harp and the acoustic are right on the money.

Mild heart attack?! Man! Happy that you are ok.

Best to you and Di.

Alan,

This sounds great. Love that harmonica! Mix is perfect!

Mild or not, any kind of heart attack is serious business - please take care of yourself.

Beautiful instrumentation, mix and production. I think that extra e got into the title to make the prairie less lonesome.
Glad you're over your heart attack. I'm stunned that I've not had one yet.

Al, first of all there is no such a thing as a mild heart attack! Please take care of yourself.

This is a lonesome song that sounds like a bunch of cowboys playing their instruments around a campfire. Note that the bean effects come later whistle

A super instrumental that was mixed perfectly.

Back in my day the only time we started panic buying was when the bartender shouted "last call"!

Hi Ron,

UIh, that young man left quite a few years ago! Now you're stuck with this old geezer.

I, too, thought the harmonica and bending lead acoustic were a good contrast that work pretty nicely together. It took me quite a while to find that guitar RT.

Thanks for the well wishes. I have an appt tomorrow afternoon with my DR. And as Mario mentioned, "mild" is a misleading adjecvtive in this case. But the DR said he needed to use it in records so other physicians can evaluate his findings appropriately.

Take care,

Alan

Hi Dave,

Thanks for all those very kind words. I'm delighted you enjoyed the song. I seem to be doing okay other than perpetual fatigue. As I mentioned in my narrative, it could have been worse!

Thanks for listening. And thanks again for the nice words.

Hi Bob,

Thank you so much for the nice comments. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

And yeah, anything that impairs the heart has to be taken with care and caution.

Howdy, Chay!

Glad you enjoyed the song. I like your defense of my misspelling. Thanks for coming to my rescue!

And here's hoping you never have a heart attack! You stay careful, too.

Hey Mario,

Thanks for the listening and cool comments! Sure do appreciate it!

When I hear “Lonesome Prairie” I immediately think of “Lucky Luke” (you guys over there have probably never heard of him, I think it's a European comic)
Perfect soundtrack for one of those old western movies.
I enjoyed listening to it.

I wish you and Di all the best for your health!

Ah, you are a very mild fellow, Alan. This is a beautifully mellow piece creatively crafted. Love the harmonica, and the sound you gave it. Those are some tough changes for most harpists. Makes me long for the solitude of the prairie, prairy, prairee.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Alan...you always seem to get it right...you captured the feeling of a campfire out on the prairie with a little jazz feel in it...it's very difficult (I think) to shape melodies from the real track's riffs and runs but you sir are a master at it...the instrumentals you post don't sound like random riffs pasted together but rather cohesive melody lines are formed into really nice songs and this is no exception...so well done!

Kudo's to Izzy for the eloquent and descriptive review.
Nothing to add to that other than we fully agree.

Another outstanding all BiaB addition to your great catalog!

Take care Al and in as much as possible please try to focus on what the doc said.

We enjoyed it and best to you!

Alan,

First and foremost, prayers for you as you seek the lifestyle change to get healthy!

Secondly, I'm a lyric fanatic so I don't typically listen to long to instrumentals but this one captivated me to be sure. Nicely done! The string bending and mournful harp only adds to the beauty of this one.

Hi, Alan.

Excellent work, as usual - each segment leads nicely into the next, keeping the same Western vibe.

Stay well!
