I met him a few years ago. He came out to hear us play, and see what I'm still doing with Master Tracks Pro. He said he was thinking about updating that after Encore, but I've lost hope for that, too.

And my alto sax will turn 100 years old next year, still plays, still sounds great, and can still be repaired by any competent woodwind technician.

Modern things don't seem to have that longevity.

Actually, the intonation is not as good as a newer sax, but it has the voice of an angel. My guess would be denser brass and the silver plate.

I don't take the alto to the gig anymore, just my tenor. I can cover alto sax parts on my wind synthesizer. I have a mix of classic and the modern on the gig.
