Is there a way to disable the moving cursor for both the chord window and the lead sheet window? My guitar teacher has had students practice with iReal and follow the cursor on their iPads, but the second they hit a stage without them they get completely lost. I don't want to be one of them. I can't seem to find a way to turn it off but it has to be buried in here somewhere.

Try this: Right-click on a Cell and select Display Options ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=28676&filename=2024-09-13_12-43-31.jpg) Then at the top, click and select Cell Playing Background from the list: ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=28677&filename=2024-09-13_12-42-22.jpg) Then adjust the color from the displayed color chart and press OK. (The default color is black) ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=28678&filename=2024-09-13_12-48-39.jpg)

Hi.
I don't know of any way to stop the cursors that follow playback. The only thing I can suggest is to print the leadsheet to a pdf file (and use the pdf) and with the chordsheet, take a screen shot and paste it in a document.
Regards, --Noel

BTW, I don't know how to turn off the cursor, but you can change the color of the currently playing cell to be the same as the cell background color, so it appears more or less hidden.

I’ll try AudioTrack’s way of changing the colors, or contact tech support again in the morning. There has to be a way, this is really basic.
Thanks, AudioTrack. I have a feeling BB is going to change my life now that I can actually jam with it. Playing with iReal is so boring.

Incidentally, I don't know that I've ever heard of this request. Maybe that's related to the lack of an existing feature. I hope something works out for you though, even if it's a workaround .

Yes, this is a new question for me. I would have done what AudioTrack suggested. Did that work for you?
+1 for a Wishlist post.

Yes, do post in the Wish List section. It may get traction.

So don't look at the display. If the object is to play by ear.... then either don't look or drape something like a towel over the display. You start or stop playback with the space bar so that would be my first option.... hide the display with something.
This method eliminates the need to adjust setting and then go back and restore settings. Old skool is sometimes the best.

Right now I look at the real book that’s beside my Surface. They’re both on a music stand, but the screen flashes as the chords go by. The towel is an interesting idea but I don’t have a keyboard connected, just a mouse. All they would need to do is add an option when you right click the play button to choose “disable cursor.”
Thanks for the towel idea.

Start playback and then click the top, right Windows minimize button to minimize the screen. Maximize the screen when needed.

Oh my god, why didn’t I think of that? It never occurred to me BB would keep playing while minimized. I’ve only just started using it. Thanks for this! I still would like the cursor disabled. Does BB run in a split window? I’ll have to try that as well.

What do you mean by "split window"? Do you mind giving an example?

I should have written “split screen.” Half the screen shows BB, the other has a PDF In acrobat of the real book.

In Windows, you can always drag one window to the left end, the other to the right, and let each of them snap into half the screen

Window key+left arrow on BB, and Windows key +right arrow for PDF? In Windows, you can always drag one window to the left end, the other to the right, and let each of them snap into half the screen Yep, both of these work great with BIAB. Even better, it works with different windows within BIAB, like the floating Audio Edit, Notation, and Multipicker windows. You can split between 4 windows by dragging windows to the corners of the screen. ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=28693&filename=4.png)
