I know there's a few people here who were in the original Cakewalk forums back in the early 2000s.

Janet, AKA Momma Bear was a huge part of that forum. An amazing piano player. She recorded the music she wrote and was active on the forums. She and her husband Gordon were missionaries with a mission organization that had her in Papau New Guinea learning the language of unknown tribes and developing a written language for a language that had no written form for the purpose of translating the Bible into that language in written form. By the time I met her she and her husband Gordon were back at the HQ in Missouri teaching piano lessons and teaching language to the missionaries getting ready to go to PNG to continue the work.

I had the privilege of cowriting a couple of songs and encouraging Janet to put her music into sync. She landed a pretty good deal with one of those songs.

Sadly momma Bear has passed away. She developed a serious medical condition a few months ago and she succumbed to it a few days ago.

Anyone who knew her was blessed to have known her.
