Thinking about adding a midi bass pedal to my solo guitar stuff for a little more free form composing.
Not thinking about creating intricate bass lines like Jimmy Smith might do on a b3.
Mostly just roots and fifths sustained over my guitar musings.

Something to provide some palette cleansing for my biab tracks.

Has anyone on this forum has used one like the Studiologic.
If so, your experiences would be helpful.
Wondering if there's a decent standalone tone module for bass.
Nothing fancy. Just rather not haul a computer to the gig.
I'm away of IOS solutions for sound modules.

Its a bit of an investment to go wrong.

Google/Bing stand alone bass modules you will find a number of them. I have no idea how they sound but they can be quite expensive.

Are you using any backing tracks when you gig? If so how do you play them? MP3? CD?
If you are using prerecorded backing tracks then maybe this will help:

There are a number of free bass VSTis but the best are Ample bass VSTi and in fact Ample basses are my go-to bass sounds. They are expensive but the Ample Bass P lite is excellent and free:

With it and BiaB MIDI you can use either the BiaB MIDI track or write your own track. Writing your own tracks is a way to customize the bass line for every song. Plus it would leave you to concentrate on your guitar playing.

I currently gig with backing tracks.
320kbps MP3 using Anytune Pro IOS for playback.
I've got that covered. Been gigging with it 6-8 years as a soloist

I'm looking to add a couple songs each set i can play rubato or very loose tempo.
Not solo chord melody guitar but something a little freer.
If you listen to Frisell/Thomas Morgan or Jim Hall/Ron Carter or Charlie Haden/Pat Metheny that gives you some idea.
Don't for a minute think that I can play like any of those guys, I cannot.
I just like the sound.

I'd like to hear from people who actually use the device (or similar) and their feelings about it.
I know a few b3 guys who use bass pedals and they say it just becomes second nature.
