I have loaded up BIAB 2010.5 on a new HP W7 machine. I did not install my old Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card, since it is no longer supported with W7 drivers. With the TBSC installed on my old Gateway XP, I could plug in my Blue Icicle usb interface and record vocals while listening to RB playback thru headphones. Now I hear nothing, trying to just use the BlueIc'e and Microsoft Sound Mapper as my input and output audio.
Is there a way to configure just my basic PC with RealTek, and my BIueIc'e to playback RealBand recorded tracks, while I record vocals? I am trying to keep it simple so I can spend my time and money on buying and playing guitars. Maybe I just need to shell out a little more and get me a new card or pull out my old Yamaha mixer and hope to avoid the noise.
thanks martin

Martin, it is all about routing. If the USB device is setup as the input in the program, and the built in card is setup as the output than it should work. If it were me i would buy a good slid USB interface or a better sound card and solve my problems for ever. The interface or card is always the heart and soul of the process. PCI cards are easier and less hassles, but USB can travel with you from desktop to laptop. Here are a couple choices i would consider. http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/pro...Card?sku=701341or http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/M-Audio-Delta-66-Digital-Recording-System?sku=701345or http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Focusrite-Saffire-6-USB-Audio-Interface?sku=583658

I guess I should have kept my M-Audio 2496. They wouldn't support my Media version of XP. I got tired of trying to get it to work. I should have thought ahead and kept it.

I guess what I don't understand, is that if I get sound when I push the play button on RB, then my routing must be set correctly. Right? When I push record, RB starts "running" but no sound. This seems to me, like it would be a setting inside RB rather than a system issue. What am I missing here?
thanks Martin

Make sure the "Full Duplex" box is checked. It's under Preferences - Audio.
I had a problem with Input monitoring with effects (via ASIO) in RealBand and PowerTracks. With the M-Audio 610 I found that I couldn't monitor my input through the effects. I bought Sonar and it works fine there. I concluded that the ASIO in RB/PT is not compatible with the M-Audio drivers. It's frustrating. I found a workaround, though. I can run the monitored input through a standalone version of a VST program (like Guitar Rig) and it works great. I can record the input, but hear it through the standalone program running at the same time. Not perfect, but good enough for me.

That was it. Don't know how I missed seeing that. Thanks
