I'm not sure how to word the question, but here's the problem.

I'm using chord system in Gm, thus:

Gm, Eb, Bb, F

This is for 8 bars, but on the 7th bar of Bb, I want one of the notes of the Bb a little higher.

EG
There are 3 ways to play a Bb chord using these notes and they sound lower or higher depending on what notes are being played.

D, F, Bb
F, Bb, D
Bb, D, F

Notice how the notes are still in Bb but get progressively higher, the D in the first set being the lowest and the F in the 3rd set being the highest, this is what I'm looking for in playing a Bb on the 7th bar playing the Bb as F, Bb, D, D being the as the highest note, as it stand now, the chotes are the same, a Bb is the same regardless where it's positioned, I know if I use Bb/D it would play the D as the bass note, but how do I get BIAB to play the D as the high note? In chordPulse I can enter Bb+D and it would play the D an octave higher.

Firstly, welcome to the neighborhood.

If I understand your question correctly, you are seeking ways to change the triad inversions. As RealTracks are pre-recorded musical phrases, there is no direct way to alter the triad's defined inversions. This could be done with MIDI, by changing the notes using the editor and then freezing the track(s).

Others may know more.

You appear to be trying to explain what chord inversions are. Fact is chord inversions can not be specified for RTs in BIAB. You could edit midi data and freeze the track, but I think you are asking about RTs. What is done at times in to use slash chords (Bb/F) in which a specific bass note is specified. But that will only tell the bass player to insert that specific note.

The only way to accomplish this is to use a polyphonic program like Melodyne. In the polyphonic version of Melodyne you can rearrange the notes in a chord, thus you can have any inversions of RTs.. The down side is that programs like this can be expensive.

Back in my day the only time we started panic buying was when the bartender shouted "last call"!

Are you using RealTracks? If so then use Playable RealTracks on whatever bar you need particular notes played.

+++ HERE +++ is a tutorial video about using Playable RealTracks in the Notation window.

Another possibility. With RealTracks, if you have BIAB 2024, you can try highlighting a measure or a few measures and try Partial Regeneration until the program might come up with the inversion you want. If it does, freeze the track(s).

Thanks Jim,

I followed the video and it worked like a charm using playable realtracks.

I believe RT partial regeneration automatically freezes the track, but allows for further partial regeneration on any section. By manually pressing "freeze" button after doing partial regen might (probably will) do the reverse, and unfreeze the track and you don't want that. I strongly encourage to look into partial regen. One of the best newer features in BIAB. For one, it might come up with a different inversion, if it was recorded of course, but also it might give you a much better take for the section.
