Ray, like your update a lot, it's definitely progressing. No suggestions for your backing track, it sounds great to me. On the vocals, am detecting a brief distortion on some syllables. Have heard similar anomalies as tuning artifacts or crossfade glitches, but it could be something else. Doesn't diminish my enjoyment of your song, but does sound like something that's easy to address. Well, unless it's intentional. Anyway...still love your song!

FWIW, it's hard to tell when a song file has been updated without looking for it. You MIGHT want to post this as a new post, just to get more feedback...

Cool song, Ray, love the write.

Your vocal sounds ok to me, works well for the material (listening to your latest version).

Good track, like the piano especially. Looking forward to seeing how this one develops.

Hey Ray, I think your vocal fits this song perfectly. If it were me, I'd stay with it. This is a good, fun song.

Hi, Ray.

Nails that classic Squeeze vibe. I'm too musically uneducated to hear the other influences. wink

I'd unfortunately seen Difford and Tilbrook back in the 80's after they broke up with Squeeze and toured as a duo. I really wanted to like that album, but... frown

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Thanks Dave,
I know what you mean. I bought the D&T LPs, loved the songs but not the production or presentation. They need a band which is why they are touring with a new model Squeeze now..they realized, eventually.
They nearly reunited as a band but depression & anxiety prevented it...pity.
Here's a vid of an attempted reunion:

Sweet Jesus,
Ray, I went and listened to your tracks on your sounclound. Wow! It rocks and rolls! I particularly like “Loyarano” and “The last man in Europe”. What a blast! Solid, great arrangements, vocals well in place. It's PRO! Thanks for these great tracks. Hmm, "Bass Thing" isn't bad either, and I clearly prefer the latest version. It's more accomplished

Really like this tune Ray. You are to hard on yourself regarding your vocals. Vocal and lyric was really well done. Once you get your mix dialed in this will be a very cool song.

It sounds better Ray, but for me, the heavy mid range chugging is still drowning the vocal.
