This is the original version of "Venus Walks" from early 23 which only uses the Country Rock Guitar Solo Pop Ba style. Like the 3rd version and the following "Venus Walks Again" all 3 chord cycles (choruses) start at 3/4 time and then switch to 4/4. The 2nd version, also never previously posted here, is 4/4 throughout. I kept this version simple as I wanted a non-intrusive soundtrack for the video of my own graphics. The 'message' in the opening and closing images is completed in "Venus Walks Again".

180 bars; 3/4 & 4/4, Em; tempo 110; Time 6:20

I've not been onsite much lately as besides having 3 weeks of Fiverr problems - see my long post on the 'Off Topic' forum - I've also lost my video creating program as despite my having bought it boxed, not downloaded, it expired after X amount of activations, though you don't get that information when you buy.

Chay,

Very cool song. You do some of the best mixes. I hear some Fleetwood Mac-esque overtones in the instrumentation and passages - very nice!

Excellent work as usual!

Chay, very nice indeed. That Knopfler-style lead guitar really sounds great. Those time signature changes sound very cool, too. Super band and mix, as always. This may not be your "best" version of this song, but it's my personal favorite.

Yeah, those time changes are subtle but quite effective. They can give that sleepy feeling of walking off a curb. WHAT? "I've also lost my video creating program" That's crazy. DO they expect you to buy it again? Man, you are so good at creating your videos. They surely have some competitive products where you'll once again shine.

I like the mesmerizing feel to this, Chay. I won't mention my oldtime intrumental called Minus One Toot Suite. Oh, there I said it again.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Guitar sounds great, I'm also hearing a Mark Knopfler vibe, one of my favorite players of all time.

Enjoyed!

Hi, Chay.

As others have already said, a well mixed, relaxing tune with some interesting time signature changes to keep my attention.

Thanks Bob. I never really thought of the Fleetwood sound, but now you mention it I hear it.

Thank for the comment, Floyd. The guitar is Brent Mason. The odd thing for me about BM is I find I either love or really dislike his various BiaB styles. It's like his samples are either perfect or awful. laugh

Thanks, Ron. That guitar is a bit Fleetwood, a bit Knopfler. As an instrumental, though, for me it's definitely a soundtrack accompaniment sound and not a standalone. I've used it and one other instrumental for a longer storytelling video, which I may post here later for the story, though it's about 11 minutes long.

Thanks Marty. Yeah, I feel ripped off by CyberLink, particularly as I bought the boxed version with a disc, as I thought it was a purchase for life. What they don't tell you is that regardless of how you purchased the product it expires after X amount of activations. I was going to replace it with the latest version which is always in the top 3 in video editing reviews, but now you have to either rent the program or make a one-off purchase for the "perennial" version, which despite them actually using that term, it's not at all perennial as again the activation key can only be used an unspecified amount of times. One reviewer on Trustpilot says he's bought 3 version in the past and all of them have expired within 2 years of use. But it seems to be a thing now as earlier this year I went to use the scanner on my printer/scanner combi only to get a window pop up which stated that as the product was X years old the scanner is no longer supported! What really annoys me is that if expiry dates aren't specified it's illegal. But since the rise of the WWW such has become super-common. I was surprised that when I tried to use the installation disc for the video editor that that had also expired!

The guitar sits nicely at the front of the mix. The combination of interesting graphics adds a further dimension.

The Knopler vibe has been mentioned several times but given how much we love his playing we have to add that we heard it also.
And, man, did we enjoy what we heard.

Your backing tracks and the mix support the guitar and the entire feel so well.
And the arrangement is extremely creative.

We think this would be an outstanding tune to submit to the sync libraries.

Excellent,

J&B
