Hi, everybody, it's been a while..
I don't often use real band but I think I'd tend everything properly. I've typed in the chords selected. The style generated the tracks. But when I pressed the green play button, nothing moves.. BIAB Works just fine but not Realband.

Did all the tracks generate fully before you pressed the play button? Unlike BIAB, Realband generates all tracks before it can start playing. This take 30 seconds or so.
By the way, what version of Realband are you using?

Yes, I can see the progress up at the top of the screen and waited till it finished. That's spelled out the tracks. I'm not sure which version but it's audiophile most current issue.

Did you enable Options - Endless Loop with nothing selected? (it's also in a button on the playback/record/transport section, farthest right)
Is an empty track Solo'd?
just ideas off top of my head.
Otherwise I might suggest trying Save As and see if the new file acts different.

If it's the 2024 version, the original build had a problem in that it timed out and wasn't usable after a specified number of days. This was fixed in a latter build of the program. I'm not sure that this is what is happening here, but I suggest going to the link below, download Build 5 and install it. (This build is specifically for Realband 2024.). You can check if you have Build 5 installed by starting Realband and looking at "About Realband" in the "Help" menu. https://www.pgmusic.com/support.realband.htmAfter you have updated the program, start BIAB and Rebuild the styles (in Stylepicker). This makes sure that all the necessary files are updated so that Realband can access the information.

i'm at a loss as to what more we all can do without haveing further info on WSS's settings. otherwise one is flying blind offering a solution.
i pm'd WSS a day ago asking for info to be posted in this thread that would help us rb users diagnose what the prob might be...
as we know from past history music apps need to be set up properly with the appropo settings....otherwise probs occur.
i cant wait to see the new 2025 rb...lol.

Yeah, about that .. you now have to Rebuild in BiaB as they removed that option in RB mid-year. I have asked development to put it back so we'll see

WSS Please go to Options > Preferences > Audio, and switch the Audio Driver Type to either WAS/Windows Audio or MME, then see if it can play now. Try different output devices if necessary. you now have to Rebuild in BiaB as they removed that option in RB mid-year. That is incorrect - you can rebuild the Stylepicker from RealBand which will rebuild everything. The only thing removed from RealBand was the "Rebuild" button in the RealTrack picker (because it was problematic) but again rebuilding the Stylepicker will also rebuild the RealTracks.

I may be wrong but I think the confusion is between the Rebuild button in the RealTracks picker versus the Rebuild button in the StylePickerThere is now no Rebuild button in the RealTracks picker like I believe there used to be. Please tell me if I've missed the point though and I'll do my best to keep quiet from now on  .

Band-in-a-Box 2026 Video: AI Stems & Notes - split polyphonic audio into instruments and transcribe
This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track.
