Hi, guys, I'm sure this is been discuss a few times but I'm wondering if bend in a box can read a wave file of a song and generate mini chords that could open up in BIAB? If so does it work pretty well? Thanks everybody!

Hi Steve, If you are talking about grabbing the chords from an audio file that is a full arrangement of a song, BIAB can do that. This is what the ACW (automatic chord wizard) does. What version of BIAB do you have? A few years ago, ACW was changed. The video below explains the latest version of ACW. Regards, --Noel

I know the question was how to do it in BIAB.
But if it is just about getting the chords into BIAB from audio.
I think it is so much easier to do it in SongMaster Pro and export the MusixXML and import it to BIAB (the chords get right from the start without any struggling with the bar lines as often happens when in BIAB).

I think it is so much easier to do it in SongMaster Pro and export the MusixXML and import it to BIAB (the chords get right from the start without any struggling with the bar lines as often happens when in BIAB). Good suggestion, however, the problem I have found is BIAB will not import the midi mapp (Am I wrong?  ). Granted, not all songs need the mapp, but when you do, BIAB chord wizard is the only way. This is on my wish list for the 50 new features to be added this month.

the problem I have found is BIAB will not import the midi mapp Really? RB has for a while now, seems like BiaB would also by now. It is a distinct process, you have to line up bars (due to fluctuation in tempo sometimes) but I've done it in RB many times. Just tap F8 on the one of each measure you hear in ACW. Tempo map adjusts. Best to do this before chords, 'though, to save time. RB handles that behind the scenes also (re-interprets the chords to the new time line as you go). After a few measures RB even looks ahead and adjusts future measures as you go.

I didn't say it can't be done in BIAB, I said it can't be imported into BIAB. I already have the midi map for a project. I don't want to create a second one in BIAB.
