One can usually play notes 1, 2, 3, 5 or 6 over any major chord without conflict, or
notes 1, 2, b3, 4, 5 or 6 over any minor chord without conflict, thank you. The major chord 12356 mentioned here Minor chords 1, 2, b3, 4, 5 I'm not quite sure if you're referring to the tonic scale or the notes above the root note of this chord? Can you explain in C major and C minor? Sorry. Notes from the root of the chord.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful.
