I was on Facebook and saw an interesting story about the making of Thriller. Apparently, they had over 150 different mixes and were listening to the latest one in the studio. Quincy walked in and asked what they were doing. They explained that they were listening to the 150th mix of the song. Quincy listened and then said.... play mix number two. They did, and he said, "That's the one" and so the mix we all know and have heard is mix #2.

I guess the lesson we can learn from that is don't overthink yourself into a mediocre, soul-less mix while searching for perfection.
