There are no major problems with the mix, I wouldn't worry too much about that. I've been using Cubase for years because for how my brain is wired it's perfect and I get results quickly and easily. But changing software in general is always difficult during the first few weeks. A little tip: I work 95% of the time with Cubase's own plugins, they really cover (almost) everything you need and are very easy on the computer.
