I've used BiaB for many years, but I felt some songs I had written didn't really fit the styles available so I've used some AI to complete them.

If you've missed any of my previous songs (that mostly use BiaB) you can find them on the same channel. If you like any of them it would mean a lot if you clicked the like button.

Nice and modern sounding song, nothing to complain about there.
Since we usually list the BIAB tracks here, it would be nice to get an idea of what was done by you and/or BIAB and what was done by an AI (and if so, which one).

Very cool contemporary groove, not that I'm an expert at that. I'm also curious about your BiaB vs AI content. Am not anti-AI ("anti" is such a strong word) but I do use this forum to both appreciate and learn from other users of BiaB.

This is a fantastic PRO sounding track. Please let us know the tools you used to achieve such great quality. Liked everything about it; the vocals, production (full and powerful) mix, and song

Hi, Alexander.

As others have said, this is a pro sound.

This is a huge departure from your prior songs in terms of vocals, instrumentation, and production.

The lack of production details makes me wonder if more than "some AI" was used to complete this.

This is actually one of my oldest songs. The lyrics were completely finished back in 2017. I felt rather quickly that I wanted the song to be electronical with a focus on percussion. The original backing tracks were from RealTracks Set 272 : Rap and Hip Hop. The final melody is very similar to the original, but I wanted a more modern sound. Now obviously all instruments from BiaB have been replaced. I used a multitude of AI tools for different parts of the project, but Suno is the main one for the actual music. For manual audio editing I use Audacity.

I understand that there's a high scepticism for AI from some people. Even though I have some basic skills in playing the guitar and singing what I really love is songwriting and AI makes it so much easier for me to realize some of my projects. What is important to understand is that making music with AI can be everything from just typing one line and let the computer decide everything to meticulously configurate and remake every part until it's as close at it can be to your exact vision. I've worked for months on this particular song for example.

Hi, Alexander.

I think one of the things that distinguishes this forum from others is that people are able to engage in all sorts of aspects of song creation, from writing technique, singing tips, production and distribution. It's not just a place to show off a final product, but to help other people. We're all pretty much DIY here.

I've got no issue with people using AI. I use various AI tools extensively. But I try to be clear with how I use these tools. And your explanation leaves lots of intriguing parts missing.

For example, I know that I can't supply Suno with notes that I want to have it sing, only lyrics. This is similar to working with a sax solo in BiaB, where you can only specify the chords, and then regenerate the solo until you get something close to what you want.

But if there are specific notes that you want from that sax solo, BiaB isn't going to supply them if they aren't in the pre-recorded solos. So you've got two options. you can either settle for it being "close enough", or you can edit the pitches and duration with a tools like Melodyne.

But with Suno, you can keep regenerating songs, because it's not limited to the pitches that it's can output. So like those fabled monkeys at a typewriter, you'll get something that's fairly close.

Since Audacity offers only limited pitch editing tools, it sounds like you did a lot of regenerations to get what you were looking for.

So if I understand your post, you generated many, many versions of the song in Suno, and pieced together the final performance, editing them together in Audacity.

Is that correct?

Yes, even though Suno has evolved a lot in terms of customization just these past months we still have to settle with "close enough" to some extent, and yes this song required "a lot" of regeneration and cutting :-). I think, in a way, it's similar to my BiaB songs. I've hired an electric guitar player for all of them, but for some other tracks like bass lines I've just generated one that sounds the closest to what I wanted.

One thing's for sure: there's no doubt about the production quality. Excellent, indeed.

This song absolutely sounds GREAT. But I don't see the point in posting a song without BiaB content on a BiaB site, or providing feedback on it here. The 99.9% of musicians who don't incorporate BiaB tracks have many other posting options.

Much respect for the apparent energy put into this song, and for the end results. Great track, wrong place.

Others may feel different, and I'm ok with that.

So good, Alexander. Excellent use of BiaB, and I'll check out the others shortly. I'm not a competent critic in any genre, but from my limited experience this one is far better than most. It's catchy with a fun beat. Love the vocal.

Enjoy whatever happens!

This is a fantastic pro sounding song. A
AI is a tool that can/will be used in making music and you used it very effectively.
BiaB is an outstanding piece of software when used alone but especially when used with other software.
Great mix on a great song.

Very cool song. The song is really good. With pop, R&B, and hip hop, the AI rendering of the voice with that small touch of autotune actually fits well with the genre. And it just keeps getting better with the music too. One of the cool things is to use it to flesh out the music to lyrics that you actually wrote. This sounds like that's what you did.

With the advent of AI.... lots of things are possible now that were not just a few years ago. However, as others have said, the showcase is where you showcase how you use Band In A Box tracks in your song. I think the intent and purpose of that rule is to keep the forums free of all the people who'd be dropping their latest song into the forum for promo purposes. People who are BB users and frequent the forums are given a "pass" on the occasional non-BB song. At least that's my take on this rule. There should be at least one BB track in your song. Lacking that, I think it would be perfectly fine to post a non-BB track song in the songwriters sub forum. I've run into the same exact thing recently. Can't find the right style to fit with the idea I'm working on. I've got a number of songs that I've recorded that are not using BB tracks and no one here has heard any of them.

Very professional production all around. I totally relate to the songwriting passion as while I stated off as a drummer in the mid to late 60s I learned to play guitar so that I could write songs. Although I played in 3 semi-pro bands and worked with others musically I was always more into the creativity than the performing.

Nice mix but the music sounds generic - particularly the vocal. This is a problem with A.I. as it strives to be compromise & meld it's data feed.
I wouldn't be surprised to hear this in a movie, a chill compilation or similar.
I think you do your thing very well but A.I. is helping & harming what I hear.

Cheers

Alexander,

Very pro-sounding. Obviously, a lot of time and effort went into this. I enjoyed my listen very much.

I pretty much agree with those people who have suggested the listing of the specific BIAB tracks, if they were used.

Regardless, this is a nice song and arrangement.
