Hey guys...first off thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers for my wife M'Len...she's progressing slowly from her stroke and is getting good rehab right now at a Bounce Back facility which gives me some time to get back to the forum...I know I've missed a lot of great tunes but I'm trying to catch up with my listening.

This tune is a revival of a song that Single Heart often did in our concerts through the years...it features Bob Huston ("Old Velvet Throat" as we called him) on the lead vox...it's kind of mid-tempo country tune...so if you do...thanks for listening...all my best to everyone...Dan

Great song Dan. You do so well at putting out a good, biblically sound message. Sure glad Your wife is getting some better and your getting a chance to rest your mind a bit. I wish it was progressing more quickly, but I guess not half as much as you. I really liked your song. I thought you did a geat job with piano through it, and it's good to hear your own vocals again. I'm kind of a pedal steel guitar nut, and I found myself thinking that this melody was simply made for one, and then you brought it in! I might have put more in, but that's just me and my style. Hang in there Dan, and I'm glad your getting some time for music again!

Hi, Dan.

Excellent song, all around: vocals, composition, lyrics, arrangement. Easy-going and easy listening.

There might be a bit of an imbalance between the slight distance of the vocal (which has reverb) and the up-front sound of the piano, but that's probably just a question of taste.

Nice to hear your group's voices again! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Dan, so glad M'Len is progressing, even if slowly. Know each recovery journey is different, but never fast enough. Lovely song. I do adore the Single Heart vocals, and have to say THANKS for keeping them alive and updated. This song finds a warm spot early and nurtures it all the way through. Really enjoyed the listen. Take much care! Ron

Dan,

First off, best wishes with regard to M’Lan . . . I hope she’s doing well and recovers fully and quickly. Really cool hearing your vocals again on a song (the last few I heard you were dabbling in AI vocals) . . . you have such a warm (almost Roy Orbinson type) vocal . . . a pleasure to listen to. Pretty song, well produced as always. Well done!!

First you and M'Len are in my prayers

Second this is another Christian music masterpiece.
Great vocals and harmonies.
Super backing tracks and mix.

"Old Velvet Throat" is surely one gifted person, and you, Dan, are such a big gift tp him creating these well-written songs. Heck, buddy, you're a gift to all really. Guess I know who to thank for that. Love this song, and can instantly recognigze it as another firesong gem. Hey, just realized this: listened twice so far and didn't even notice if there was a modulation. Let's see...

Yep, third time is the charm. Hmmm, guess I'm used to being uplifted with your songs, sir.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Dan, I've been off the forum for a while and so seeing the update on M'Len was a shocker! Be sure I'll be praying for her continued recovery and peace of mind for you as well.

No surprises with your song ...high quality in the message, production, vox, etc. ! Great hook and set up!!

Beautiful song with a VERY nice, old-fashioned sounding voice.
Could be from the 50s or something.
Really well done by all involved.

I wish I had time to thank everyone individually... but I chose to try to get some thoughts out on other's songs with the time I could spend here today...please know how much I truly appreciate your communication with me right now and how glad I am that you all liked this old song...my time spent with Single Heart was the greatest of my musical journey...writing for them and singing with them is a time I will always remember and cherish...thanks again for your gracious comments on the song...Dan

Dan,

This is a great song and production Dan. Is that you on main vocals or one of your buddies?

Sounds very Roy Orbison!

Nice! I love this kind of praise music. Old school is definitely the best

We are happy to hear your wife is progressing!

The whole package has a comforting feeling (vocals, lyric, band).

Bob’s smoooooth vocal and the nice harmonies sit well in the excellent mix.
The piano and steel sound great.

Enjoyed it!
