This is a redone video of "Deya Flows" which was never posted on this forum. The soundtrack was the original of the latter title, but this shorter redone version now has the "Deya Flows [BaRock]" strings-based instrumental, which I created in 2023, but I've remixed it this year. It's also not the same arrangement as the "Flowing Lady Deya [baroque]" song's music, that version of the song yet to be produced. It was during putting this video together that I lost my video editing program - long story - but assuming I could still use the 'expired' discs on my laptop I listened to this soundtrack and to my surprise it sounded wrong! My laptop appeared to be playing the left channel in the right speaker and vice versa, but to my horror I eventually discovered that ever since my PC got hacked in The Year of My SNAFU Catch 2022 it's been the PC which has been playing the stereo in reverse - I use Windows 10 and there's no fix for this - and the reason it horrified me is this:

I only started creating videos after the 2022 hack and that means that every single track I've created using BiaB has been and is currently still being heard on various sites with the channels the wrong way around! The problem with this is that as it's not how I heard the music when creating it and when I reverse my headphones to listen to tracks the way others hear them it all sounds totally wrong! I liken it to an abstract artist who discovers too late that 40 of his paintings have been exhibited upside down. As I've specifically arranged and mixed the instrumentation to be heard the way I hear it the only solution is to redo all 40 videos - not all of which have been shared on this forum - and reverse the music channels in Audacity. Now whenever I listen to others music on my PC I have to wear headphones the wrong way around to hear the sound the right way around! Thus the soundtrack to this video, "Deya Flows [BaRock]" is the first ever of my BiaB music tracks that the listener will hear they way it's designed to be heard! So if you ever listen to my previous forum posts while the links still exists and you use headphones, please put the headphones on the wrong way around so that you hear it the way I designed it to be heard.

Sample tracks in order of appearance:

Runaway Soundtrack Country String Quartet ~ String Quartet: probably Avery Bright
Acoustic Guitar w/ Even Simple B ~ Guitar3: Jason Roller
Sobbing Cello & Nylon Guitar ~ Guitar: Brent Mason
Dreamy Pop Quintet ~ Organ: Gene Rabbai
Pop Ballad Solo Acoustic Piano ~ Piano: John Jarvis
Viola & Violin Ballad ~ Viola: Avery Bright
Pop String Quartet ~ Drums [hybrid of 2]: Brian Fullen
Pop String Quartet ~ Guitar2: Tony King
Pop String Quartet ~ String Quartet: Avery Bright
Runaway Soundtrack Country Cello: Matt Nelson
Viola & Violin Ballad ~ Violin: Avery Bright

144 bars; 4/4 C; tempo 95; Time 6:24

Chay, very soothing composition with a nice dynamic build. You've done your usual great job of arranging a lot of musical activity while avoiding clutter. A very enjoyable listen.

Sorry for your technical issues. The Beatles mixed their early stuff in mono. Those were simpler times for sure...

Chay,

You have such interesting compositions and some of the best mixes around. I really like this song. Lots of dynamics and little artistic touches throughout.

Great stuff!

Don't sweat the stereo channels. MOST people barely notice stereo from mono and if they're listening on a radio or moving about in a room good stereo can be a problem.
I like the music but find the video makes the music seem bland so I listened without watching & it was much better.

Chay,

Due to my wife's recent heart attack and other medical issues, my comments have been very brief. Please understand that I listened to most of this but not all of it.

Soothing and gentle. The various strings mutually complement and don't intrude on one another. Your time and dedication to this project are very self-evident. Very nicely done for an excellent listen.

Thanks DC. I seem to be going through a period where technical glitches have become the norm - I've just had my 1st 2 with the BiaB program, which I'll try and sort via other forums - but discovering everything I've done musically over the last 2 years Other than this post) has the stereo reversed is like taking one step forward and 40 back!

Thanks for the response, Ray. But I do have to sweat the stereo as I want my music to be heard the way I designed it to be. If someone redid one of my videos and horizontally flipped all of the images, most would work, but they wouldn't look as good. I recently tried it when discussing the Fibonacci curve with others. The same applies to stereo channels, but most importantly when I now play my tracks with the channels swapped the vast majority just sound wrong to me.

Thanks, Al. I totally empathise with yours and Di's scenario as I was a full time carer for my mother before she passed on. I barely did any creative work during that period.

Hi, Chay.

Pleasant listen. As several others said, "soothing".

I would have liked a final cadence at the end, though.

Yep, soothing is the word. Yeah, those strings are so well done. Hey, I'm glad we get to hear these as you intended, Chay. Still, I really can't imagine that these compositions could be diminished.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Beautiful and very relaxing music, I enjoyed my listen.
As for the swapped stereo channels, I would never remix my music because nobody but you notices, or even can notice.
Drummers _could_ notice the wrong placement, but who cares about drummers?

Sorry about the tech issues. Years ago I got fed up with an fx company’s delay in updating to the current OS so I decided to remix what I considered our best songs.
Man, what a hassle … mainly because it wasn’t just adding new effects but also finding other issues that I thought needed addressing.
Mixes are never finished just abandoned! Pardon the rant.

This sounds excellent to us … amongst many good things those strings are standout.
And again we are amazed at the number of tracks and how well each one sits in the soundstage.

Beautiful, ethereal, mesmerizing and well done.

Thanks, David. There are a few of my instrumentals which don't end as I'd like, but that's a limitation when working with samples. Though I do like the way this particular one ends.

Thanks, Marty. Being so limited in my retirement flat which only has plasterboard walls separating me from my neighbour 99% of my listening to anything is on headphones and when I listen to my music with the channels reversed it all just sounds wrong. So just for my own listening benefit I need to reverse channels and mostly remix everything I've produced over the last 3 years since my PC was hacked and the channels became reversed. Though that said, I do want others to hear everything the way I meant it to be heard.

By crickey, B.D.! "who cares about drummers?" !!! I started out as a drummer. Re reversed channels, I never noticed my PC's flaw when listening via speakers, but as I replied to Marty, 99% of my listening is on headphones and when I reverse channels all of my music just sounds wrong. So as many others do listen on headphones I want things to be heard the way I designed them to be heard.
