Great song! Excellent, well-thought-out drums with a well-placed set of toms. The whole thing is coherent and a pleasure to listen to.

Ron,
Love how that piano pops right out of the gate . . . then the percussion kicking in. Great start. Excellent vocal by D.A. Some awesome harmonies in this one. Yeah, really like this one. Outstanding piece . . . perfect production. Terrific tune!!
Deej Thanks, Deej. Getting the piano to sound good on its own and then transition to the mix was a neat puzzle. I ALMOST used two different pianos, but in the final mix it's a single VSTi with no automation. Glad you liked it! I love Dusty's harmonies, too. Thank you for the listen!

Wow! This is a wonderful treasure chest full of musical pearls glittering in heavenly colors. I could spend all day analyzing this, but I try not to I can easily see that there have been lots of work to polish the lyrics, just so many lines that express the feelings about the relationship crystal clear. My favorite is "I just try to close the book/Forget what I had read/Then I take another look/To see what else you said". The chord progression and the melody hit the best notes of pop music. Reminds me of R.E.M., The Beatles, Squeeze, Jellyfish, Elton John and many more. The band is perfect! The piano carries the song so nicely that it feels like the song was written at that piano. Everything is mixed so well that even the best producer in the world couldn't make it any better Excellent vocals once again and the angelic harmonies are sweet. Janne

Good song, good vox. I love the line "I lay down my weapons."

"A dark but hopeful tune contemplating the remnants of a failed relationship" A most apt description!
It reminds us of both the Beatles and The Beach Boys (at their best) in harmony and the big full sound.
We really loved the piano and the vocals. Great arrangement and mix too. The soundstage via our Kali monitors was excellent.
A great line of many: “I just try to close the book Forget what I had read Then I take another look To see what else you said”
Pro all the way!
J&B J&B, THANK YOU for the kind review. I mean, the Beatles and The Beach Boys had to have influenced most everyone in my/our generation, right? Know I listened to the 8 tracks of Rubber Soul, Revolver, Endless Summer and Spirit of America like at least 100 times. So if some of that got stuck in my head, it's not surprising. Happy if a tiny bit leaked out! The lines you mention are quite nice. My lyricist doesn't care for his lyrics on this song except for those lines. So I'll tell him he's in good company. Ha! Really appreciate ya'll listening!

They're mostly subtle but serve the tune quite well. Wow! This is a wonderful treasure chest full of musical pearls glittering in heavenly colors. I could spend all day analyzing this, but I try not to I can easily see that there have been lots of work to polish the lyrics, just so many lines that express the feelings about the relationship crystal clear. Janne Janne, THANKS for the lovely review. I'd say it's too over the top, but I like it too much. Ha! Love all the bands you've listed except Jellyfish, which my lyricist adores but I never listened to much. My loss! Funny you mention the song sounding like the it was written at that piano. Well, it kind of was. While I write most songs on guitar, once I get a BiaB backing track laid in, the vocals start to adjust, usually subtly, to the backing track. So it becomes more of a collaboration in the end, with the piano in this example being a focal point. Yeah, I love Dusty's vocals. If I could sing like that I'd be a busker.

Ron,
It's a great song. I think the lyrics are very well-crafted. The piano in the intro and the strings at the end are impressive. Your vocalist sings this song very well and it's a perfect fit for the song. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi Shigeki, THANK YOU for the kind review. I like the strings, too, though they are not as nice as the live recording on your last post. The strings on this song are a BiaB MIDI track, with only a few edits. Sometimes BiaB blows me away...
