HALFWAY Back to the blues! We posted this in 2018 and this is a new mix, new track effects and new mastering (all for an upcoming video production). Warning 👀 production geek talk. For several years we’ve used dynamic EQ in lieu of multi-band compression. Revisiting the multi-band compressor originally used on this version caused Bud to do a deep dive back into it as it is rather complex. Our conclusion for this tune is that it opened up the mix and enhanced track separation. YMMV! Regardless we appreciate your time to listen and comment if you choose to do so. Wow! The remix on this song is incredible. So present and clear. The sound is huge and wide open.
I always thought this was an absolutely great vocal by Janice and an extraordinary guitar track by Peter, now super enhanced by the remix.
This sounds like it came out of a big Nashville studio... Bud, you keep raising the bar on production.

You know that I love the good blues so you know that I loved this one.
The entire world knows that she doesn't need "no pitch editing or generated harmony". She is a great natural vocalist in need of no gimmicks.

Super tune, and Janice's vocals are like warm honey. Cool guitar work, and I like how the BiaB piano turned out a lot. That's a super mix for sure. Have only used multi-band compression on BiaB drum RealTracks (where it's transformative) but will need to look at this some more. FWIW, "production geek talk" always much appreciated. THANKS for posting your remix...LOVE IT!

Ain't no trio on this planet in any time before and likely after you three that can turn music-loving heads with such whiplash. Man, this is so strong, demanding attention and deep appreciation of what it takes to make something special as The Blues. Already listened to this one 3 times and I'm not even close to halfway through. There is so much goodness in there, vocals (duh), lyrics (duh), mix (duh), then it's topped off with that alway magical guitar. Great feeling! Thanks for sharing Janice, Bud & Peter.

WHAT AN INTRO!
The set up was amazing and dangerous because it has to be followed.
Luckily this has Janice & Bud in the mix so the songs shines in the space created by the intro guitar.

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing.
