Lately it began to seem like every time I ripped a new CD with WMP it got the wrong titles. It used to work well, now it can't even get the number of tracks right. E.G, you end up with wrong names for 1-10 and 11-12 just named track 11, 12, etc.

Found out WMP no longer accesses CDDB. It uses some other database. Leave it to Microsoft to take something that works and "upgrade" it to something that does not. It doesn't even come back and say "CD not found". It just merrily names the tracks wrong. It would be better if it didn't even try - just name them track 1,2,etc. But you CANNOT turn the look-up feature off.

But, I found a nice little program called Cdex and downloaded it. It rips tracks as well as WMP and gets the right names from CDDB. If there are multiple entries it shows you and you can pick one. Glad I found Cdex before Bill Gates buys it and junks it.
