This is a co-write with my wife Kathy.

Audio only link (ReverbNation): Swamp Water Whisky

The Band:

~673:Organ, B3, Background Blues BB Ev 085
4071:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm MemphisSlowBluesPat Ev 085

I used EZDrummer3 to build the drum track

Marty Straub (BabuMusic) is on the Bass Guitar and I played the lead guitar

Mixed in Reaper with effects from Waves and iZotope, mastered with Ozone11

Swamp Water Whisky (2024, Dave and Kathy Bell)

Mama worked her fingers down to the bone,
doing her best to make this place a home.
Daddy ran moonshine down the river bend,
keeping both eyes open, him and his friends.

Daddy got caught and mamas all alone,
running the still 'till he comes back home.
Her stomach filled with constant dread,
as she struggles to keep her family fed.

She's got no choice with her back to the wall,
working by the river where the bullfrogs call.
Making swamp whisky is all we they know,
passed down from generations, like the rivers flow.

Chorus:
Swamp water whiskey, hotter than fire,
keep you up at night, fuel your desire
Surrounded by the Mississippi mud,
swamp water whiskey flowing through our blood.

Dave,

That's an awesome song! Love your vocal! Marty's bass and that B3 really anchor the song.

The production is great - an excellent mix. Very cool video as well.

Loved it!

Dave, ya'll did a stellar job here! Swampy backing track and oh-so-cool vocals. Nice middle eight leading to the instrument break. Super outro, too. Pro sounding stuff for sure. smile

Dave, Marty, and Kathy,
That was freakin' awesome!
If I had heard this is a record store I would have purchased the album.
Everything was spot on.
Loved it.

OK, a random thought;

Thanks very much, Ron!

As far as the vocal goes I haven't been doing it very long, and I'm never happy with them. If I was half as good as Dusty I would be twice as good as I am now I think wink

Oh man, this is one of the best songs I've heard from you. Your opening lead oozes a murky swamp feel, along with that slinky bass line, makes quite a groove. Really cool vocal.

Man, I can't tell ya how many times I've listen to this one, Dave, and I can count pretty high. All of your songs, especially the ones you sing, stay in my head long after. Thanks so much for the invite --even though that BiaB guy sounded so good.

Enjoy whatever happens!

You three folks make some mighty fine music! I guess we could say you folks are a Trio of Treats. Great vocals. lyrics and a smoking hot guitar. And that's a killer bass line.

Very nicely done!
