Hi Scott,
Love the music that you and Robert create together! You have your own style that is very unique and original.
Cool mix, nice panning effects.
And man, that video is something else!

Scott, you and Robert are doing some of the most creative stuff on this forum. This one is darkly disturbing yet beautiful. Love the arrangement and BiaB choices. Your guitar is tasteful as always, and like the choice not to give it a lot of ambience like the rest of the band. Great lyrics and vocals by Robert. You guys have definitely carved out a uniquely enjoyable musical place on the forum. Enjoyed!

I always look forward to listening to your new songs... This one is absolutely superb. Love the guitar and instrumentation, Robert's vocal and the mix. Outstanding stuff!
Kind of a gothic folk sound. EXCELLENT!

Very cool. It almost has a Tex Mex feel, but sweetened with all those interesting Synth vibes. Supports the lyrics perfectly.

That is a full rich soundscape. The arrangement and vocal support the lyric theme very well.
Your guitar accentuates scenes in the video in an excellent manner and the guitar panning is very effective. Great idea.
Enjoyed it!

Lovely production and mix. I really like the spirit of the lyrics as I can relate to being and 'assassin of secrets' - or really having been one as now I'm advancing in age I don't really care what happens in the artificial world as on many levels and fronts it will be all downhill with the political and media narrative saying we're flying up. The neutral yet often positively used term is 'progress', but few ask, "progress to what?"
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Haunting and mesmerizing. It's got an underlying western feel, which makes the song even more intriguing. Well done!

Oh, I always go straight to the videos with your songs, Scott & Robert. In fact, I saw this one a couple times before i read this post. I had my own story worked out, but now I've gotta read the trilogy. Already have the first one downloaded to Kindle, and I see there is now a 4th book.
Enough about me... This song is really really good. The whole production including that cool vid is outstanding. Love that guitar --fitting so perfectly. I know I'll be back to listen and wastch a bunch of times when I read the books.

Sounds like the lovechild of Pink Floyd and Ennio Morricone, psychedelic meets spaghetti western music. Unusual, but not bad at all. The vocals make it dark and haunting, I like that. Well arranged and very creative. Good stuff from all involved ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

I am a huge fan of Spirit Level and of Robert's lyrics in particular. As is often the case, he's sent me googling, because I'm not familiar with the source material. But this has an eerie vibe that anyone can enjoy, and once I'm up to speed on its inspiration, I'm sure that will enhance it immeasurably. Good work, gents!

Spirit Level:
This falls right in your wheelhouse and has all the stamps that make a Spirit Level song. Evocative lyrics and atmosphere. Haunting guitar lead and emotional vocal. Good stuff!!

Intriguing visit to another world in another time, like a document about some foreign culture. I enjoyed how the folky acoustic and modern electric instruments fight and blend, some nice Eastern elements and Scott's guitar is the mysterious key sound to glue everything together. Robert's unique voice is always mesmerizing. I enjoyed those "all-seeing" eyes in the video. Very creative, Spirit Level walks their own path that is unpredictable and exciting.
