I love that Latin influence. It's a rough, depressing topic, but somehow the music managed to make it exciting. It evokes a Broadway music/dance number. I can see a full stage production with dancers and jungle scenes. Thanks very much for your kind comment  I like your description about the stage production, I can imagine how the jungle scene would be quite devastating... Janne

You always have such creative posts and often with a message. I can't believe what can be done with synth voices, I loved the couple of times when the singer's voice jumped out at you. (0:50 and others). A big part, maybe necessary part, of the solution to the problem stated in the lyrics would be for the world to go vegan. But that seems unlikely to happen. Guess we are doomed.

So basically about Homo Sapiens. You know I prefer you vocals, but neither of us can do as well as you have crafted these synths, Janne. Man, this is a sensational production. So much to enjoy!! And you bring them in and out so perfectly. That guitar is terrific. Right now I'm listening for the 3rd time, but still can't hear anything insignificant. You create so many quotable lines in your lyrics. Love those horns. Did you have to modify them much or are they right out of the box (pun intended)? That guitar really shines in quality and you placed it in all the right spots. With all of that that is going on in there, you still manage to give the production dynamic changes that really keep the listener loving it.
After the moon, on to Mars. Thanks Marty for your very positive review Glad to hear you had something to enjoy I had some extra work on the horns, mostly to simplify the parts that were too complex at the end of the vocal lines. But luckily the partial regeneration worked like charm for the horns. I read that Sapiens is a Latin word meaning "one who knows", but I feel that a better word would be "one who doesn't care". I wish there will be better resistance on Mars... Janne

Certainly is an interesting production with it's Flamenco edge.
It would fit well into a stage production about saving the planet.
Vocal sounds fine.

Man, this covers a lot of territory - musically and lyrically. I truly love the Latin Funk bent. I was surprised - but happy - to hear an acoustic lead vs a wild electric throwdown. It just adds to the diversity of this amazing musical creation. I like the new Synth voice - strong and fairly deep. This is an amazing tour of creative composing.

Cool music and an ambitious, very worthy narrative. Sounds like it's prog rock meets jazz concept album.
The lead vocal seems too laid back, light pop for the story. Thanks Ray for your kind feedback "prog rock meets jazz" love that description I was thinking about David Attenborough voiceover style in a nature documentary, so that's why the voice is softer in the verses. Janne

We love the mashup of styles and your new singer fits well. Janice said she could picture a stage play of this fine musical production. The “happy” sound of the band keeps the lyric from totally depressing us. 😊

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
