In anticipation of the BIAB 2025 Realtracks there are plenty of the usual, but again not one new Strings Realtracks package.

Brian, .... maybe the new VST3 capability will allow you to bring virtural instruments and strings plugins which can be driven by the chord chart in BIAB? Do you currently work with Kontakt instruments?
Hi, Playing back VSTi String instruments with the "Generate Chord Track On This Track" feature is ok but generally just give block chords,(not very inspiring) That's why I was hoping to see more genuine String Realtracks (talking classical here) with the latest 2025, after all it's been on the BIAB wish list for quite a long time. Even if the Soloist style feature was updated with more String options that would be a plus. So other than possibly updating the main program I'll give the new Realtracks a miss.

NI Session strings or Session strings Pro will do what you are after. They are phrase based. Mainly classical runs and phrases and VST will reinterpret / reharmonize based on chord track. I have tested it in BIAB with Chord track, works like a charm.

You are not in Kansas any longer. This is advanced stuff. Wonderful, but advance. And while I agree with Rusty I am skeptical that BIAB chord charts, which are intended to drive multiple instruments in the band, can adapt well to string phases. This level of application IMO is best used in a DAW where each instrument track can have its own chord chart. I guess I would be interested to hear what can actually be done with BIAB and these plugins. This is why the new VST is so important to provide this capability.
Start at 6:05 Session strings Pro
And if you really want to go over the rainbow, check out Kinetic Strings from Kirk Hunter
Chord Track will fly those string phrases like Dorothy and Toto, without any issues, as long as your keyswitches are not erased by the cyclone of new regenerations.
Brian, do you have NI strings? I believe they are included in Komplete.
I would not recommend Kirk Hunter as he is goin out of business.
Peter, We need the protection range for keyswitches fixed and same consecutive chord ties fixed to make full use of these complex VST3 plugins work properly in BIAB
I had limited time to do this strings video, but here is a proof of concept. BTW, there are well over 100 phrases in the plugin and each can be greatly modified to fit your needs. This is an earlier "general" and longer video on BIAB+VST that uses keyswitches I did: https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=832180#Post832180

Kindly fix them this year. Thank you.
Misha, this might be a problem as various VSTis have different keyswitch ranges. Maybe an option would be user assignable keyswitch ranges?
I'm in a fitness protection program. I'm been hiding from exercise.
64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware
Mario, I know. This is how it should work : You specify a range in a Chord track to generate chords. Everything else, not included in the range should be protected
Thanks Rustyspoon for the informative video, much appreciated. I will look into the Session Strings after purchase, just missed out on the BF deals.

Cool. Mine is PRO 2. It goes on sale from time to time. That is how I got it.
There was an update yesterday. Peter Gannon said that preserving keyswitch issue I spoke about will be fixed in the next patch. I am very optimistic about that. Also perfect timing as they rolled out VST3 support.
P.S. there are a few other string VST instruments that will do similar using chord track in BIAB. Perhaps a going out of business Kirk Hunter is not a bad idea if you get what you want cheap.

Misha, Good idea. We are adding this feature with the next patch. It works exactly as you described there.
Yes Midi Chord Track is the way to go, I posted about this years n years ago with demos for Ni, Toontrack, Ample, Musiclabs, VirtualGuitarist etc, I even made scripts (heaven forbid if I mention those) to ignore keyswitches when transposing and working with the midi chords. Also in Rapidcomposer that I posted years n years ago showing a way of handling keyswitches of different VSTi's for notes, this gives you a right click articulation menu for notes, Music Developments just listen and implement usually in a short time, not a year in between RC Keyswitches Here Video Demo
