Hi Routou

I'm doing pretty good, and Di is stable, for the most part. Thank you for asking. And yes, a good hard rock singer with a decent lyric could take this up another notch. But for now, it has to hold its own as an instrumental. I'm delighted you liked it!v Thanks for telling me!

Hi, Alan.

Excellent remix - cool progression, and the guitar solos rock away! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Good stadium filling classic rock!

Great BiaB wrecking crew in mix --- excellent dynamics.
The drums pop nicely.

Everything is hittin' the note!

Oh yeah, man nobody does instrumentals like you. Loved the guitar work throughout and great supporting tracks as well, all mixed to perfection. Jammin, toe-tappin' melody. Makes me feel like grabbing my guitar and turning it up!

Hi Alan.

Once again you show us how musically talent you are.
This is excellent listening!
The arrangement and the production resonate with competence, confidence and a ton of energy.
As I have said before, you really have the knack when it comes to fine music creations.
You do such a great job!

All the very best to you and a big "Hello" to Di smile

Howdy, Folks!

Thanks for your kin words! The drums were the most difficult track of the remix. I used Audacity to convert the MP3 to a WAV file and then played with the EQ and compression - not much needed, though. I added quite a bit of EQ in the upper-mids and mi\d-uppers (no pun intended there). I then added a bit of bass in the 60 and 90 frequencies. The lead guitar played nicely with the mixes on the other tracks.

I bought an Apple computer in 2007 or 2008, and it just didn't work well for me - probably a lot of bad user input. However, I returned it two days before the 30-day time limit. I've been, for the most part, pretty happy with what I've managed to squeeze out of my PC and Audacity.

I have fairly recent versions of Studio One and Cakewalk but I couldn't figure them out. I might try again this coming year. I might even try Real Band again if those don't work out.

Anyway, many thanks for the kind visit!

Alan

Noel,

First, Di truly appreciated you included her in your final greeting line. (Me, too!)

I'm not sure about how I would quantify my musical talent - I simply follow my God-given ability to work with chords and chord progressions. My ears tell me what i think is right or wrong and I just try to make my ears happy.

I've commented to many people over the years that foreign languages (for the most part), mathematics, and music all have a common denominator - a pretty predictable syntax, ie: in moslt cases, adding an "e-d" to the end of a verb in English will make it past tense (language); the square of any integer will always be that integer multiplied by itself (math); increasing the 5th note of a major chord by two half-steps will always make that chord a 6th chord 9music).

Hope that made sense. B ut that's how my brain processes that stuff.

I'm delighted you appreciate my efforts - means a lot from a talented musician such as yourself. heck, I don't even read or write notation! It's all ears and musical syntax for me.

Again, I sincerely appreciate your comments and input.

Alan
