I have had a problem with BIAB for at least 2 years. I am really into sounds--they inspire me--so I try to beautify the strings etc. with VST instruments like Cinematic Studio Strings (within KONTAKT) or Omnisphere's strings or some other Kontakt library etc. But as I load up nicer VSTi's on string or piano track in BIAB eventually BIAB stops working and my speakers make like a "white noise" that gets louder and louder. I am worried the sound might destroy my speakers! Do you have any idea what would cause this and cure this? I hoped that the 2024 BIAB would by more efficient but it did not solve the problem. As I add more VSTi's sometimes it will work OK in that instantiation. But if I try to open the file again later in BIAB, BIAB cannot handle it and it gets into the increasing "white noise" routine. I have asked for help from BIAB Tech help several times but nothing worked or solved this. prob;e,s ( I have a powerfull computer with 2 CPU's, many threads amd 96 GB of RAM at 16,000 or 18,000 speed).
Does anybody have an suggestions or solutions? (Today a BIAB person suggested that if I buy BIAB 2025 I could benefit from using VST3 plugins which use less CPU resources)

I think I know exactly what's going on.... As I have experienced this with certain plugins.... And tried reporting this too...
There is an issue when a plugin (VST2) is trying to open multiple audio ports at the same time when inserted into BIAB instead of Stereo. You can try finding those settings in VST and toggle to stereo or 1&2 outputs at the time when "white noise" is happening. It's unfortunate it wasn't fixed.
I've tested same plugin in new 2025 BIAB as a VST3. No white noise / no issues.

I have bought BIAB 2025 Audiophile Upgrade and I am hoping that since now BIAB supports VST3 these problems will go away! If it is any help I was using Kontakt 6 (today listed as version 6.8 -version 6.6 and higher runs as a VST3) and I really like using the Lite and Full String Section instruments of Cinematic Studio Strings (CSS). Thanks for your reply and encouragement. I also tried to beef up other instruments with other Kontakt and non-Kontakt Libraries.

There are only very few VST3 plugins reported to have issues. Vast majority work fine. PGM will likely come up with a fix for those few that have issues. VST3 was long awaited. I am sure they want to get it right.
P.S. I don't have your particular strings, but I've tested Session Strings 2 with Kontakt 6.8, Kontakt 7 and Kontakt 8 in 2025 BIAB. They work as they should.

You can drag n drop VST/VST3 using Element in Biab, you can drop a VST3 into the VST2 version if you have an older Biab (if you are running in Admin mode then the file browser needs to be in Admin also). element-win64 element-osx![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=29373&filename=BB25-Element-Drop-VST.gif)

I bought BIAB 2025 but the white noise thins is still heppening. I am asking this questiona again to PG Music Tech Support.

Are you using VST2 or VST3 when you hear that noise?
Is it specific Kontakt instrument that produces that sound?

Hello All,
yesterday (Dec 17, 2024) PG posted a new patch/update, which *may* resolve your issue. namely:
"This patch will update Band-in-a-Box® 2025 to Build 1124 from any previous 2025 build. This includes VST DAW Plugin 7.0.4.
Added: Vertical cursor on all tracks in the Tracks window.
Added: If you hold down the Ctrl key while pressing the +/- buttons to expand/reduce the vertical track heights, they will expand/reduce at 5 times the normal rate, and if holding down shift it will expand/reduce at 10x the normal rate.
Fixed: Possible crash with some Native Instruments and Steinberg VST3 plugins such as Halion 7"
