Same here.

I was reading an article the other day about how AI summaries "flatten" out the internet. This is an excellent example of that.

AI provides no information as to where it got the information, and by rewriting, makes it almost impossible to find and validate the statement. It's almost as if someone had designed it to plagiarize work and not get caught.

Cite your sources? Ha!

But verifying sources matters, and in the process of researching something, you'll often go down rabbit holes to discover answers to questions you never thought to ask leading to solutions that were never considered.

In the same way that AI music removes people from songwriting, AI summaries removes people. Half the fun of reading through forum posts is getting to know the people behind the posts - even if you never interact with them.
