Even though I use Melodyne Studio quite a bit for all kinds of uses I really never thought about its uses inside of BIAB. I suppose if it were implemented right you could manipulate notes with the actual tone of the instrument quite simply on a real track. Even the DAWS that did not support ARA at the time could use Melodyne. They had to transfer the data into Melodyne and work on the Melodyne track and transfer the track back into the DAW. Of course this did make it a much slower process. Most DAW's now days do support ARA of course.
