I play a fair amount of jazz .
I generally use BIAB to create backing tracks after I decide wish to perform a certain tune.
BIAB can create extremely high quality tracks I can use live.

For woodshedding I use Irealpro just to get the tune under my belt
Its got all the features one needs for practice
Its just a lot quicker. Not as realistic, but good enough for the shed.

Inside BIAB I do mess around with the drummers as I move from A B. sections; For example If I pick Bossa Terry Clarke I can right click and use the Variations sub window (mid right) to select whether i want brushes or stucks, blastix, busy or what not.

Sometimes the variation between A&B sections is really cool. Often it takes some patience.

Another think is make sure you select "vary middle choruses" in your song select. This is a great way to get your solo choruses a little amped up from the head.

Good Luck
