Another channel swapped and remixed track. Only 35 more to redo!

"Baby Be Mine Tonight V1" is the first of two instrumental versions of a song I wrote in 1974. It's also one of four songs I have the backing tracks ready to record vocals to, but unless my neighbour goes away on holiday I've got no chance of ever recording any.

Piano: Solo Acoustic Piano Ballad ~ John Jarvis
Organ: Dreamy Pop Quintet ~ Gene Rabbai
Tenor Sax Solo: Slow Country Pop w/ Tenor Solo ~ Mark Douthit
Guitar Solo: Modern Groove Soloist, Brit Rock ~ Dave Cleveland
Bass guitar: Dreamy Pop Quintet ~ Tobin Frank
Drums: Ditto ~ Brian Fullen

136 bars; 4/4 G; tempo 125; Time 4:29

Chay, funny that this tune is 50 years old but still sounds exactly and uniquely like you. Great work, as always! Good luck with the other 35...

Hey, Chay. Let's start a GoFundMe for your neighbors vacation. This is so good. It's so good with the instruments you already have in there, but, yeah, let's send them away for a while.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanks Floyd. Dave Cleveland is my favourite BiaB solo guitarist. Sometimes his style doesn't suit what I'm producing, but when it does it's incredible.

Thanks, Ron. Yes, I was 23 when I wrote it, 73 now! I just hope I can produce a vocal version before my body expires.

Thanks, Marty As I just replied to DC Ron, I really want to get a vocal version done before my body expires, but due to horrible plasterboard walls it's all down to my neighbour being away for awhile.

I enjoyed this a lot, good feel to it all the way around. The solos were a bit too busy for my tastes, but that is just one person's opinion. Good job!

Hi Chay.

This is really good listening.
I hope you manage to get some vocals down for it some day.
I'd love to hear the full song.
It sounds like it is spectacular.

Thanks Noel. Yeah, I really must get the sung version done before my body expires. It's a really positive, joy-of-life kind of love song, each chorus also being lyrically different with words such as "Baby be mine tonight / Hurry make your face look like a star in the sky"!

“Hey, Chay. Let's start a GoFundMe for your neighbors vacation.”

That’s an epic production and, man, that RT guitar solo is remarkable.

73? Well Bud is older and often considers a redo of some late 60’s and early 70’s production. Well, maybe. smile
Good for you stepping back and bringing new life to an old tune..

A job well done!

Chay, 50 years ago and it still sounds contemporary
It sounds like you where way ahead of your time back then
Excellent song
Super use of those RTs
Great mix

Thank you J&B! That guitar solo is a hybrid of 2 and initially I wasn't as keen on it as I am of other Dave Cleveland solos I've used on other tracks, but it's grown on me and perfectly fits the pace of this tune. Wherever I've used DC solos samples they're always the climax part of the instrumentals.

Most of the songs that I've written are from the 70s, one from surviving from 69, but when I've tried to do BiaB versions the original _feel_ and flow is lost, particularly where fingerstyle guitar is dominant as it can't be reproduced. Unfortunately I'm in the wrong environment for experimenting with acoustic guitar and adding BiaB styles. My neighbour across the plasterboard walls has a huge family, including teenage grandchildren and there's always someone extra staying there, sometimes at least 3. It's a bungalow-like block of 6 flats, but I estimate that my neighbour gets way more visitors per month than all other single residents put together get in a year.

Thanks for the response, Mario. I'd probably now call the song version as I used to play it 70s pop-rock, though adding BiaB instrumentation definitely ups the dynamic.
