In realband when I try to make tempo changes to a live track using audio wizard (hitting f8 key at each bar), it appears to make the changes, but when i leave the audio wizard and go "back to realband", the second or third bar of music gets completely deleted!!!. Any solution here? (I never had this problem with power tracks).

Also, assuming i solve the first problem, .... is it possible to take the edited beatmapping and return to the chord wizard a second time to fine tune some of the measures if I find that a few are off? ....or do I have to start from scratch?

thanks

First problem -
Did you remember to "set bar 1" ? That may be the issue with losing a bar. Right click the very first bar marker and select 'set bar 1'.

Second question - yes you can go back in, but it is better to make sure you do an accurate job the first time to save time. The ACW may recalculate the measures when you launch it and make more work for you.

I tried setting bar one where I think it should be, I also tried setting bar one at the very beginning of the song to see what would happen. i did this and tried both of the last two options ("Keep first bar and use a time signature change", and "Keep first bar and use a time signature change".
No matter what I did it deleted bar 3 (actually it shows up as "3a"

I just tried inserting 5 blank bars so the song started on bar 5. Again it deleteed the 3rd bar from the "start" at bar 5. It deleted bar 7! I don't have a clue why this is happening.

All latest updates?

I can not duplicate here

I do notice something doesn't read right in your above post -

tried both of the last two options ("Keep first bar and use a time signature change", and "Keep first bar and use a time signature change".

Just thought of somthing to try ..

When you first open the song in the ACW, go to upper left and change the tempo to something very slow, so it spreads the bars out more.

May be worth trying. I like starting with a tempo that is too slow, rather than too fast.
Then when I tap F8 it moves the bars ahead in time (closer to beginning) rather than back in time toward the end, where you may end up having a couple bars clash ..

Sorry, a mistake in what I wrote..., It doesn't delete the third bar, .. it "inserts" a bar of silence in between bar 2 and bar 4 (bar 3 is empty) and bar 4 continues where bar 2 ended.

After doing Audio wizard I get the following:

bar 1 is smaller than bar 2:
and get the following options:
- Insert silence at beginning ...
- Delete first bar frrom song ...
- Combine 1st and second bar .....
- Keep 1st bar but use a time signature change ..
- Keep 1st bar but use a tempo change ..

The first three options were not tried as I didn't want to do any of that.
i tried the last two (the last one is the only one that really makes sense to me but i tried the last two options.
Still it put a 1 bar gap between bars 2 and 3.

I did the same thing in Power Tracks 2010 ., when the wizard was finished it didn't give an option to return the changed tempos to Power Tracks, it would only return me to Realband. And in Realband there was still the gap between bar 2 and 4.
(after I get this "missing bar" sorted out I would like to know why Power Tracks don't give me an option to return the changing tempos to Power Tracks, which I am more comfortable with for certain things, and instead brings the changed tracks to Realband. Sometime I prefer working with Power Tracks.)

both realband and power tracks have the most recent updates.

Please send this to support.
Something needs attention
PTW should not rely on Realband, as some do not have both programs.

Kristen,

I was having similar problems over the weekend, albeit in PT rather than RB.
After tapping in the bars, I noticed I missed a measure early on and tried to tap it in retroactively, which didn't work. The bars started jumping around and who knows what else. I started over again tapping from beginning to end and had PT change the time signature at the beginning. So PT asked me but not you. Maybe it has something to do with the lead-in. Beats me. But that worked. As Bob suggested, it helped to slow down the tempo.

Good luck.
Percy
