Dead End Rendezvous - Remastered

A repost (and remastered) song originally posted in 2016. It's a mix of several different acoustic genres. It's all acoustic except the bass. I guess you could say it's an Acoustic Funk Jazz Fusion mashup.

I've been trying to keep up with all the new posts, but I'm still behind. Di has been in the hospital since last Thursday. If all goes well, she'll be home by Christmas.Eve.

Anyway, I hope this is the last of the redos for a while, and that I'll have some new stuff before the year is over.

Alan,

Continued good thoughts for Di...

This is a great track. I love the rhythm and all the inflection points. The mood comes across as tough and smart.

Loved it!

Hi, Alan. Hugs to you and Di, and wishing you a very special Christmas. Man, when I got the 2025 BiaB, I thought of you instantely. Some of you folks here are so good at revising these gems, and I can't wait to see how y'all will do with the new stems separation feature. You are definitley the master of remastering, Alan. Of course, anything new you share always rides at the top of my playlist. Man, I think even Django would have to regrow a couple fingers for this one. Love how you switch soloists.

Enjoy whatever happens!

When I listen to instrumentals, which of course I do a lot of, I always get visual images and what instantly came to mind with this piece was flying birds - sort of camera looking up at seagulls whirling in a blue sky, swifts and swallows soaring - plus also flying insects, such as bees around flowers. Very "spirited and lively"!

Alan, your mixes always sound so crisp and present. Makes me wonder what I'm still doing wrong...

Super spicy musical gumbo, with a lot of peppery accents. Now THAT's a tasty review!

Thinking of you and Di this Christmas. Hope she gets home as soon as she's able.

Hello Alan
It's an original style, it seems like a mix of country and something more exotic. When the violin plays, it's like jazz. A beautiful cocktail, to be enjoyed under a palm tree.
Merry Christmas to you, your wife and your family.

Alan, you call it an Acoustic Funk Jazz Fusion, I call it one heck of a great song!
Super instrumentation.
Great mix.

You and Di are in my prayers

PS - Maybe you should call this "this is what happens when you bring beer to a blue grass jam"!

Hey Marty,

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Well, it's nice to be thought of so kindly.

I've not yet had the opportunity to work with the stem separa1or. D was just released from the hospital and the amount of care she requires is substantial. I have only an hour or so each day to engage in any of the musical projects I have in progress. I do a lot of stuff outside the PG Music realm. Buyt, taking care of Di always first.

You are much too kind with your comments. As you know, BIAB and Audacity is the totality of everything I have use for my music creation projects.

I just deleted a couple of paragraphs I'd written in additional response, as there's probably a better place for that discussion. I typed three paragraphs about by mental and mechanical approaches to creating a song. I think they are quite different to the more popular views I've ready in one forum or another here on the boards.

But I certainly appreciate your very kind words. I always look forward to what you have to say about my music efforts. I find them helpful and uplifting!

Many thanks for your kindness. And you're a pretty awesome guy, too!

Alan

A niche market? When did that happen, I thought it was right up there, close to rock, country, jazz and americana. Dang!

Thanks for the visit, Floyd, and the nice words. Much appreciated. Merry Christmas.

Hi Chay,

Thanks for dropping in for a listen. Hadn';t thought about flying birds, but as I thought about it for a few seconds, I could see where you were coming from. But they'd have to be birds in a frenzy!

Many thanks for the listen and comments. Merry Christmas.

Hi Ron,

First, i don't think you're doing much of anything wrong. Your music is among the very best on the forum.

I tend to not overthink my musical productions. I use a peavey guitar amp in lieu of a mixer and/or DAW. I feed that into Audacity. After a little touch there, I master it on Soundcloud and then you guys and gals get to hear it. Now almost 80 years old, I've taken stock of my limitations and don't try to fool myself that I will magically press through to new heights. I try to work within those limitations and do the very best I can within that scope of my abilities. It normally takes me 2 - 4 hours from start to finish on a song.

"Super spicy musical gumbo, with a lot of peppery accents. Now THAT's a tasty review!" - I like that! thanks!

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Alan

I was surprised to see this one pop up!

Thank you so much for every one of those very kind words. I enjoyed this one because it was a little different from much of what we typically hear on the forum. I'm delighted you enjoyed it!

Di is hanging in there. She's struggling with her health, and we do the best we can - along with the health professionals. We're doing all we can to slow down the degradation of her health. Thank you for your kind wishes for her.

Here's hoping 2025 treats you well.
