Your Tascam is not multi-client. Steve ALL audio interfaces are multi-client I'm more confused than ever. First you say my Tascam is not multi-client. Then you say ALL audio interfaces are multi-client.  Multi-client and ASIO multi-client are two totally different things. Today most all companies call ASIO multi-client units as multi-client. None use multi-client for ASIO and MME/WAS. Your AI was calling ASIO and MME/WAS multi-client which is technologically correct but not used in today's terminology.
Whenever I get something stuck in the back of my throat, I dislodge it by drinking a beer.
