I’m really into this track. It has such a nice, warm feel and some really cool surprises in the production. The drum choices never let it drop into boring. I like that! I also think the bell sounds around 2:40 totally give off a Springsteen kind of vibe. The second chorus backing vox compliment but also do their own thing in a really great way. The outro singing was next level tasty. I’m totally with Rayc on that Christopher Cross feel, I got that right away too. And yeah, I can almost hear Bruce Springsteen writing something along these lines, but I’m also kinda picking up this vibe that reminds me of some Keith Urban stuff...specifically some of the drums sounds/choices AND when he teamed up with Eric Church. I know that might sound weird, but I promise it fits, even if you’re not a big fan of that reference. I mean, I get you LOVE K.U. but didn't mean to offend with the E.C. comment. Overall, I just love how it all comes together. The whole thing feels right, like something you would throw on and instantly feel good about. It is just done so well. I don't mind a 5 minute song when it leaves you wanting more. Congrats on a great song! Gotta go. Headed to the ER. Dancing accident.

I'm going to get you to write my next song post. I knew I would be hooked and like this song before hearing the first note. The song was not a let down at all. It starts out the gate with a great write, production and performance. I agree with you, this is a song to be excited about. I'm excited for you for the obvious motivation and satisfaction you've gotten from doing this project. I enjoyed this one a lot and will certainly be back for more listens.

Floyd, you have posted some fantastic songs on this site but IMHO this one is your best. Everything about this one is outstanding; great intro, super bass and drums, outstanding arrangement, and of course great vocals and lyrics. Loved it!

Floyd,
LOVE the intro...
The lyrics and melody are pure music magic. A statement to warm my heart! That chorus is truly magnificent - soaring and emotional. ...as a chorus ought to be. Thanks for mentioning that... Yeah, that solo is unreal. It's has an intensity that is hard to capture, but you have done it here for sure. I'm still amazed by these solos - even after months of hearing them. Providing good solos is a BIAB strength... I'm always blown away by your vocals and engineering. Your production is such a high point for me. Everything here is on 10 and the fade out with your vocal was perfect. Music to my ears. This one gave me chills... Best Comment I've Ever Gotten

Superb song, Floyd! Nice anthemic ballad with a "perfect" dynamic build and flow. Great vocals overall and those BGVs are very cool indeed. I don't use BiaB soloists much, but I absolutely agree that you get nicely nuanced performances from them, including this one. That was a lightening fast five minutes, which is the whole point, I think. Nice one, maestro! Thanks for the great review, Ron.

We know you are a Bruce fan and wow does his vibe ever show here with the anthemic rock feel. Bob stated our notions much better than our above attempt.
The genre fitting arrangement/mix, vocals and lyric are standout and a showcase of your musical versatility. The use of tracks from such multiple sources along with your piano sound great.
And, yep the solo is killer.
Ain’t five minutes fun?!😊
Keep on exploring!

That piano introduction sounds great, like from an instant reconizable hit song. And then comes a classic fj relationship song with romantic images of carefree love and longing, " trying to capture a moment that can't last" - well you managed to capture a moment that will last more than 5 minutes of this masterpiece. Lush production with many nice details, sweet chord progression, heartbreaking soloist selection and great vocals wrap this into a beautiful package under the tree.

Killer song. 'nuff said!
Or not... LOVE what the bass does, excellent choice. And it's been a long time since I listened to a guitar solo outro till the end. That was a great idea. And the transition from the louder part of the chorus to the quieter part works extremely well.
Personally, I'd up the lead vocal in the first part of the chorus a dB or three to put it above the band, but I assume you've already tried that and liked it better the way it is now. Anyway, killer song, killer production. My new favorite song of yours. Thanks, Brian. Appreciated. And, yes, I like where the vocals sit (but I did check them based on your observation. Thanks) Hey this sounds really good.
Has kind of an 80s rock ballad feel to it, like Journey or something.
You sure do get enthusiastic about your productions!
Easy to tell you love your musical adventures. 😂
Well, sure sounds nice and I really enjoyed it. Glad you enjoyed it. Enthusiastic, yes. If there is reason not to be, I'm willing to listen to those opinions.

Hi Floyd Excellent song Great chorus and vocals It's really catchy The rhythm is really cool too The distorted rhythm and solo guitars - perfect Absolutely top work Andi ;-) Appreciate that, Andi... This echoes John Cougar's Cherry Bomb and Bryan Adams's Summer of '69, and fully deserves its place along side those two anthems. I am listening several times, it's that good. Definitely one of the best songs you've ever donel Hats off, without a doubt! TM - That type Radio Pop Rock (John & Bryan's) has always been a favorite, so I certainly appreciate the comparisons. Thanks You.

The backing is pure Chris Cross meets MMc Doobees That seems a nice place to land. Happy to be there. but the melody & vocal are way better than those & lift the song above their level of AOR. ...and that makes me happier, yet. Humbled. I was hoping for a Floyd solo That might be coming. but will settle for Floyd rhythm guitar, piano, celeste etc. for this one. AB FAB. Thanks for the great review!

Impressive in every way. Lovely melody and a great production. Excellent music. (nice work on the outro solo sounds like a thought out solo rather than one made of lots of licks) Peter

Floyd,
OK, so I listened to this over the laptop as I was lazily browsing a couple of hours ago . . . but as I’m spending some time on the site tonight, I embraced your suggestion to put the headphones on . . .
I’m glad I did . . . really outstanding production elements throughout. I like in particular that electric rhythm in the chorus . . . really resonates. I’ve never been a big fan of Brent’s solos . . . they just rarely work for me . . . but I agree here that in this song, it nails it.
Excellent lyrics . . . big sound. That opening with the piano had a very Springsteen type sound . . . and while what followed took on a bit more of a country sound . . . I could hear Bruce doing this song.
Big thumbs up on this one from me!!
Deej Thanks for the great comments, Deej. Much appreciated.

Hi, floyd jane. Great intro. I love playing that kind ostinato stuff on the piano because it sounds so good. The verse sounds great, and then it explodes at the chorus. Catchy, lingers in the ear like a pop song should. And the outro keeps it going! What's that word you use? Killer. Thanks, David. Appreciate that... One of your very best, Floyd.
The lyrics are exceptional, the attention to (and painting/description of) detail is incredible. The musical writing is incredible - someone mentioned Bruce Springsteen ... yes, it has echoes of him, but I'm glad I'm hearing YOU sing this. The vocal performance is you to a tee ... of incredible quality, and with those trademark Floyd Jane voice inflections which take it all "over the top", as it were. The piano playing and instrumental arrangement are the cherry on the cake.
This is superb stuff. Thanks for the great comments, James...

Hi floyd.
Wow!!! and Wow!!! again. This is top-notch, first-class, super-duper listening. Your production is brilliant. I don't know how you did it but I love what you've done. This sounds like it should be in a movie. Everything about the lyrics rings with authenticity, and it's a story that resonates across all age groups. Images and memories flooded my mind as I listened. That amazing chorus is nothing less than amazing! You've really raised the bar with this one.
All the very best for a brilliant 2025! --Noel

Oh, yeah, Brent is so good in so many ways, and you brought out the best, Floyd. What a sensational sound --a BIG sound in this one. Cant definitely see why you kept that extended ending, and that you fearless cheered him on with some soaring vocals. Yeah, I tried some air guitar but ending up only playing 4 strings with my index finger and thumb.
When my granddaughter saw this one on my computer screen, she said, "Wow, he did a Taylor song." Eat your heart out TayTay. Thanks, Marty. I'm just gonna write song with Taylor Swift titles. Click bait. Brilliant, Floyd. Really great dynamics in the construction and a top-notch chorus! And also good to hear great solos, which I always feel are missing in a lot of songs. Thanks, Chay... Your intro is great and your voice is always so beautiful. You made us a beautiful song and what a guitar lead! Thank you for this beautiful Christmas gift Laurent Thanks, Laurent...

I’m really into this track. It has such a nice, warm feel and some really cool surprises in the production. I see what you did there... A production should keep your ears engaged... The drum choices never let it drop into boring. I like that! Coming from a drummer...much appreciated. I also think the bell sounds around 2:40 totally give off a Springsteen kind of vibe. The second chorus backing vox compliment but also do their own thing in a really great way. The outro singing was next level tasty. I’m totally with Rayc on that Christopher Cross feel, I got that right away too. Happy to have references to any one of those names. All artists I respect. (E.C. fan, btw ) Overall, I just love how it all comes together. The whole thing feels right, like something you would throw on and instantly feel good about. It is just done so well. I don't mind a 5 minute song when it leaves you wanting more. Congrats on a great song! Much appreciated!!! Gotta go. Headed to the ER. Dancing accident. I'm sending flowers.

Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
