I don't need to remember where it is, as long as my DAW can find it.

I recently needed to transfer everything to a new computer.

I first went through my Kontakt folder, since that's what most of my instruments are.

Then I went through the VST/VSTi list in Reaper, which organizes them by company.

After that, I visited the company websites, to see if they were downloaded or needed an installer.

Once I was sure I could install everything, it was time to uninstall it and reinstall it on the new machine. For a hot minute, I considered putting all the VST/VSTis in the same place, but decided against it and let the installers put them all over the drive. laugh
